there all very good but i would say torchic cause shes cute and later becomes very cool and her blaze kick does a hell of alot of damage in the end i would definitly chose her

have to say bulbasaur, made the first half of red/blue a cakewalk and also evolves at level 32, the lowest out of all of them i believe

id say the water is the best so todile also because they learn ice moves such as blizzard so rivail could lose in 1 hit.

any water pokemon because they can use surf and dive plus the grass pokemon doesn't harm it to much

Charizard cant be hit by ground type, and grass is doubly ineffective. In FireRed it is good for the first gym.

treecko! he's so fast! and unlike any other starter, he learns... leaf blade! quite possibly the strongest grass move (next to sunny-beam combo). he's a good sweeper. in my game, i taught my sceptile: leaf blade, dragon claw, thunder punch and crunch @choice band. he sweeped teams so easily! if you've played the ruby/saphire/emerald at least once and been used to the game, you should choose treecko, because the game gets more interesting with the underdog grass type!

hmm I would have to go with Charmandre, but I don't know if he would be the best starter he just is one of my Favritoe Pokemon of all time

torchic is good in the ruby/sapphire cuz it evolves into a fire/fighting which owns in the game.....but for personal fav, i will go with cindaquil...its eyes is juz so cute

I chose Cyndaquil b/c he learns faster!!! Plus, I've always thought he was pretty beefy.

I'm not really a big Pokemon fan, sorry! I play to get either Saphire or Diamond for my DS, but I'm still not a huge Pokemon fan. Sorry die-hard Pokefans!!!

definitely generation 1, these are those classics pokemon that kids of the time like me grew up WANTING!! hah they were soo awesum little animals that could fight and somehow although i kept watching al the different series, i never quite got over the gen 1 pokemon - becuase they were the originals that will never die, whereas the new pokemon pearl and diamond pokemon are getting soo whack and shapeless its getting crazi not to mention how im going to remember al those weird names.
