I like the water penguin and the fire monkey. If I had to choose i would go with the penguin, even though usually i never pick water as a starting pokemon i just like how this one looks.

Its really hard to choose from the penguin or the monkey. But Im pretty sure I chose before this even came out, and it was the monkey.

I like the 3rd generation the best, but when I continue playing Pokemon Diamond, it will probably be 4th generation, then 5th, then 6th, and so on until Pokemon is played out.

Water or Fire, since the monkey looks kinda cool and starting w/ a water Pokemon will help out since you wont need to look for one for Surf or Dive (or whatever moves that get you across/under water)

I'm usually the fire-type specialist, but I'd say Turtwig in this case. Very nice stats. Chimchar isn't as great as I was hoping... (And I've never been too favorable of monkeys.)

Piplup(english name) i think is the best out of all the pokemon...Looks dont count for anything it really depends what kind of pokemon u like mine would be fire but i dont like the fire pokemon that much.

In english its actually Chimcar - Fire, Piplup - Water, Turtwig - Grass.... i think Piplup should be the best starter if u like a cool looking final stage... Chimcar if u like strong pokemon..... and Turtwig if u like defense type pokemon..... i would chose either Piplup or Turtwig

Chimcar is actually the best for ingame play through, since there is a severe lack of fire pokemon up until the E4, unless you like using ponytas.... But I chose Turtwig and named him Yggdrashel

Chimchar buddy! hes got to be the best. Great attacks form beginning, great looks... HES GOT EVERYTHING!!Some one said that Charmander coul dbe used as a starter but they are def worng. Confirmed (Gametap). If anyone wants to trade send me a mesage i have all the legends. And i just need three masterballs, and id liek it if some one would trade piplup and turtwig for any pokemon just for the begining and then u can reset and start over. Plus if u comply fast ill give you mew and latios after the trade

Turtwig is the best. It's third evolution looks perfect. Piplup's also a good choice. I dun like Chimchar becuz I don't like monkey
