The bst starter pokemon is diamond would be the Fire one because it would turn out like Blaziken. REALLY STRONG!

I usually like choosing the water type, good ol' squirtle back in the day. But I think in diamond/pearl I might go with the fire mokey type thing, it looks coolest and I guess having a fire pokemon is usually an advantage at the beginning of the game.

same could be said about most of us who has played the japanese versions back when they came out. i know more jap names then english in D/P. seeing as i havent played a english pearl yet.oh and if u are refering to the first heap of posts. they were made way back before the english names were even finalized.the english names are, turtwig, chimchar and piplup nobody understands when you use japanese names

i think that Piplup is the best starting pokemon. the last evolution makes it soo freaking cool because its a steel/water type.

Definately the 2nd generation.It was the most fun IMO.And you could catch both legendaries, unlike the generations after.

I didn`t really like the 1st generation.. The first time I encountered MissingNo, I got a shock and thought my game was glitched.I luv the 1st generation (red,blue) those games were awsum. GO BULBASAUR!

I would choose the grass turtle, although water is usually the best since it can learn ice moves, which eliminates the treat of grass.

Hmm...In terms of stats, Chimchar is vastly superior over the other two, but if we're talking coolness factor, it'd have to be Turtwig
