I went for Torchic, and at level 50+, it still remains as a Torchic... 'cos I like it this way 
But I usually have to level up Torchic more than usual, since in its unevolved form it does not do as much damage.

mudkip´s very good. i always choose the water one, since it makes it really easier through the game. Mudkip is even better, since he is also ground type, which doesn't have many weaknesses.

Mudkip. Treeko has nothing on him until he becomes Swampert. Then Sceptile can do some hard damage. But by then, you should have a fire type to own it.

Pick Mudkip or torchic. I don't recommend plant pokemon cause of their many weaknesses

water type is the best to start of with you can easily beat both of the others at the first but it may get tougher after that

red/blue/green: Squirtlegold/silver/cristal: Cindaquilruby/saphire/diamond: Treeko1-151 i would say charmander152-251 i would say totodile252-351 i would say treeko i use those 3 to start i think they are the best to start if u use gameshark

I like Cyndaquil, but that's because I never get around to finishing any Pkmn game and just pick pokemon on how cool they look.Not the best of reasons, but... Yeah.

i hate grass, so many weaknesses but not so many advantages. grass-types makes the best annoyers though
