Since it says BEST STARTER POKEMON, I end up with these choices:GBC: Red/Blue/Yellow: None of the starters have a clear advantage to completely pwn ALL the gym leaders, but in the end you can completely clean house with Charmander if you catch and train a Caterpie to Butterfree (Psychic is AWESOME!!!) to handle Brock and maybe Misty.Gold/Silver/Crystal: Same as the original 3. None of the starters can completely pwn all the gym leaders, but you can again clean house with the Cyndaquil if you prepare for utter anhilation from Whitney's Rollouts and Pryce's Ice, and Jasmine's Steelix.GBA:Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald: Mudkip = POWER AND UTTER ANHILATION!!!!!!!! NOBODY messes with the water pokemon that evolves to water/ground. I can take Mudkip and wipe out everybody; gym leaders, Magma/Aqua/both (Emerald), E4, and all the legendaries with just Mudkip/Swampert.FireRed/LeafGreen: Look at Red/Blue/YellowDS:Diamond/Pearl: First game to ever make it possible for you to own the game with one starter. A fully evolved Turtwig can pwn everyone. EVERYONE!!!!!!!!! Including YOUR RIVAL'S PATHETIC LITTLE CHIMCHAR!!!!!!!!!!! Piplup fully evolved sucks. It only does slightly normal damage against a Pokemon that does super effective to both elements. Oh, and for all the Blaziken fans: Chimchar = Torchic = Blaziken as a monkey!Piplup fully evolved: Empoleum (Water/Steel)Turtwig fully evolved: Torterra (Grass/Ground)Chimchar fully evolved: Infernape (Fire/Fighting)

If I was picking one for the looks, it would definitely be charmander.But if I was picking one for strategy... it would be Chikorita because it has the best move set out of all starters. ( Besides Chimchar. )And in Diamond and Pearl, there are only two fire pokemon you can catch... mainly. Which would be Rapidash and Chimchar... so nothing really good against the grass type.

I personally like Balbasaur because he made the first 3 gym leaders easy to defeat. Besides Balbasaur looks awesome and he's strong with Sunny day and solar beam..

Charmander RULES!!! Hahaha. In order to choose a Pokemon, I always choose fire pokemon 'cause they are powerfull and there are too much kind of attacks than they can learn. I'm sorry if my english is bad, I'm argentinian... AGUANTE CHARMANDER, LOCOOOOOOOOOOO hahaha. (It meas charmander rules, dude). Whatever, fire pokemon, in my opinion, are the best. But there are some pokemon of another types that are good too.Ciao, compadresloose from the games i think torchic because he has 3 type's(flying,fighting,fire)

the third generation is the best for me.. because it has Fire Red and Emerald.. the two best games for me..

I preffer the gold and silver generation because the first generation needed more pokemon and the ones after gold and silver went a little to far with their pokemon.

My favorite starter is Eevee from Pokemon X D cause he/she has many possibilties of evolutions depending on which game it's in. My second favourite is Charmander because it evolves into charizard; one of the most powerful fire pokemon. My other favorite is Totodile because it evolves quickly.

It kind of doesn't matter every pokemon is balanced to be able to complete the game just at some areas are harder than others.

swampert is probably the best. it only has one weakness, although it is a major double weakness to grass. bellyzard is my fave however.
