I like Chimchar because it evolves into Monferno and its oldest evolution is powerful.

I think that any of the fire types would be best.they're not only strong,but have awesome evolutions as well

I think Squirtle is the best for PKMN blue/red/green (and for FireRed and LeafGreen) because once you get bubble you can easily beat Brock and get alot of experience. For Sapphire and Ruby I would say cyndiquil because it loks cool, is one the strongest when fully evolved and is my favourite.

I would Go with bulbasuar for 1-151 because it's advantages with the first three gyms for the rest of the generations they would be cyndaquil, Treeko, and chimchar because those are the ones i went with.

I think the Pokemon games are starting to follow a pattern when it comes to starter Pokemon.The fire type would be Hard difficultyThe water type would be normal difficulty The grass type would be Easy difficultyOr something like that. At least, thats how it was for Pokemon Red/Blue. Charmander is my favorite, hes just too darn cute.
