Chizuno, I agree with you.I picked Totodile in G/S/C, just like I picked Squirtle in R/B. Water Pokemon are the best and forever shall remain such.

Dude Totodile owns in Crystal. It has the most advantages in the game against the Gym Leaders. Totodile goes into the sweet Crocadile thing ( sorry i forget the name been a while) and Surf is prolly one of the greatest moves next to Hydro Pump.

I chose Totodile. I almost feel ashamed for choosing due to looking cooler than the other 2 but that's why I did it. Besides, it can learn Ice Beam and that does better against Meganium than anything Typhlosion can do to Feraligatr or Meganium to Typhlosion.

i choose a water pokemon for a starter cause they usually can get through the first few gyms easily and are really powerful by the time you fight the elite four. i never use grass pokemon

When I played the pokemon series games my favourite starter was totodile. He looks so cool on his 3rd stadium of evolution. If dratini could be a starter I would choose him.

I think in R/B/Y/G you must choose a Charmander,because if he evolves into a Charmeleon and Charizard he is really,really strong!In G/S/C i wil take a Chikorita,the begin is though,but the end is easier then sleeping.R/S/E i will take Torchic,especially when you are going to the Pokemon League.And in FR/LG i will take Bulbasaur,because when he is a Venasaur,he will be huge en superb strong!!!

Charmander for FR/LG, as it is one of the best fire pokemons in game, the other two you may find some substitudes, but this one is unmatched by all other fire pokemons...

I prefer Cyndaquil. Mainly cause it's adorable, and I love its evolutions. And once it evolves into Typhlosion, its Speed stat, Defense stat and Attack stat are pretty much unmatched.

I haven't read all the responses - but Treecko is the best one. Personally, I prefer fire types, but Treecko was the best choice for the first two gyms, after which you could just forget him and use others you've caught, and never have any problems with the gyms. This is a good thing since gyms are kind of hard when you first start a game.

i had alwyas hex-edited pokemon gold so i could have mewtwo be my starter pokemon, but if i had to choose id pick tododile.

really it doesn't matter to me, I always seem to build a team really fast, and I rarely use my starter pkm(it always ends up in the PC). For example, as soon as I catch a Shroomish in ruby/sapphire/emerald it becomes my main member.

When you download, platform-specific DPs are used first.
DPs can be spent by using some platform-specific DPs and some global DPs.

If it is to be looked at objectively, grass type pokemons are no doubt at a huge advantage as starters. It doesn't really matter what other pokemons can do, or grow up to be, the fact remains that grass types has a huge advantage in the early part of the game.Bulbasaur for sure.
