Iw ould have to say that the 1st generation is, indeed, quite nice. Sure, the 2nd and 3rd have there charms, but Yellow, Red, and Blue will always be my favs. Unless Dungeon counts, in which 3rd is my fav.And ponts, you left out some of the code. You have to do a couple of other things first, I think.

when i first saw the 3 starter pics i was dissapointed in the fire monkey but when i saw its final evo my mind changed quickly

i would choose hikozaru because in most of the pokemon handhelds fire starters were the best except for in ruby,emerald,and sapphire.

I'd go with Poochama's starting form, after all grass and fire types have always been relatively easy to find early on while water types have usually been rare/weak when found.

I'd suggest the monkey, but they are all preatty good. Monkeys are just my favs, so there is a bias.That and there arnt that many fire pokes in DP appearently

Well... The best I can say for you is pick one that tickles your fancy because there really isn't "the best starter" I myself, would go with pochama as it says on my sig

I like Fire Starters the best.. Why? Because I < 3 Charizard. My favorite Pokemon since Pokemon Red. I was gonna get the monkey.. But I'm gonna do whatever I can to get my hands on a Charmander, sooo... That makes it pointless. =) I'm gonna get the Penguin cause it looks bad donkey. + The only other water pokemon I'd consider in my team is Lapras.

I dont think any are better than any other, but id go with the fire monkey. He has the coolest evolution too.

I think the fire type will be best because the fighting part will beat the water steel combo and the grass is deadI, myself, will choose Hikozaru, the little fire money. I always used the fire starter in every game and they've never let me down. Plus if Serebii's list of all pokemon types are right, there's only about 4 new fire pokemon in the game without including the starter pokemon and his evolutions so I'd pick Hikozaru.

I dont' usually pick a type the first play through, I usually pick the one that has the coolest looking evolutions and the best movies. Then I'll go back and play with the rest of the starters.
