All the grass starters are awesome.Charizard may own, but dragons lack originality value.

Mudkip because his Water/Ground type in his evolution had no weaknesses except grass (easily taken care of with ice beam), immune to Thunder and no annoying Sandstorm.Plus Cursepert owns.Charizard is good since immune to ground and can learn belly drum.Venusaur for a leechseed/toxic or just a good physical sweeper overall with swordsdance/bodyslamI think gsc starters just suck in general.

Bulbasuar was good because he leveled faster, Squirtle was the best overall, and Charmander was the power house.I dont know about the others but i did choose Totodile and treecko in the later versions.

If I had a choice between all of the starter Pokemon it would definately be...Mudkip.Why you ask?It is because Mudkip is resistent to most Pokemon attacks, despite being harder to level up than the other starter Pokemon. It's attacks are powerful, I especially like Muddy Water. It can learn attacks like Earthquake and Surf. The amount of HMs it can learn makes it worthwhile. Though there are some drawbacks it you choose Mudkip, it is at first quite weak against Grass Pokemon, my Marshstomp nearly fainted when it was battling Grovyle. And sometimes it can get too powerful, I killed Groudon on my first battle against it. Despite all of these misfortunes, I still would still choose Mudkip as my starter Pokemon.

I chose the water pokemon in all of the current games. My favorite so far is mudkip because it naturally learns both Earthquake and Hydropump.

Charmander. Why?Evolves to look like a dragon.Learns fly.Classic starter.. also evolves into the only pokemon in the anime that has beaten a Legendary 1 v 1(Charizard beat Articuno!).

I always use fire strater pokemon  But if there's a choice then I'd choose Torchic since it evolves into Blaziken which has the most strongest moves ever! and because he's my fav.

I believe the best choice as a starter would be the water one, it's typage once it evolves gives it a good adventage over many kinds of pokemon (it get's to be water/steel), also it get's handy almost all the time, and it looks far better than the others when it is fully evolved, it works almost like a Gardevoir.
