Whenever I pick a starting Pokemon, I always pick Mudkip. [Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire]--'Cause it can beat up : Ground, Fire, and Electrical Pokemon. And beating those pokemons never gets old.

I think Torchic because it can learn bot fire and fighting which is always good. no to mention he also learns Peck, and some normal types.

mudkip is the best as all you need to worry about are grass types, who you can use earthquake on or an ice move if you teach him one

i think treecko is the best becuse it has hight speed and it will have powerful attacks when it evolvesI think that Squirtle is the best starter so far, but i am partial to water poke so that may have something to do with it.

the fire ones! i always start of with those...even though it's challenging to beat the water badge one >.> but that's okay

The first two fire starters and totodile suffered from small move pools, mudkip didn't really do good in anything, chikorita and squitle would be out lasted by chansey and shuckle, bulbasaur just didn't have the right attacks, and treeko and torchic actually did good. Torchic actually is misused with all the fire stuff when its special is stronger so it kinda left treecko as the best.

i chose squirtle because I tend to lean towards defenders. Plus I love turtles.

You usually find that the fire type is the strongest, and the water type is the most defensive. If you choose the tactic, "Offence is the best defence", then you most likely chose the fire type. Sure, it's strong..but along the way, there's usually a water type gym. Then again, if you chose Treecko in RSE, then you might have a hard time defeating Wattson at the electric type gym, because your grass type moves have barely any effect on a steel type like Magnemite. But really, no Pokemon is globally "the best", but only the best in your opinion. And me, I like Mudkip

Torchic...It may not stand out at the beginning but when it evolves to Blaziken, you'd be thanking yourself for picking torchic...

in virtual reality it would be charmander, but in real life i would just love torchic coz blaziken is just a made as pokemon. you should watch the cartoon and see it's wrist and ankles blaze up when it's bout to battle.

squirtle is a good starter because he can learn lot of attack but there are also tododile or bulbasaur

you have 2 rivals in d/p the rival blonde boy picks the stronger, while the opposite gender picks the weakeri think someone told me that whatever type of starter you choose, your rival will choose something weaker. not sure.

I Would Have to say Squirtle bscause after he evolves all the way he is the only one out of the three that is great against the elite four.... with his blizzard he good against the dragons.... and he can completly kill the second and fourth of of them all... the only one hes sucks is the first with ice....

I've chosen Squirtle because he has his own Squritle squad on the TV show. That and because he is a Blue water pokemon...that just seems funny to me. (lol) =

Well, in Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald I'd say Torchic because With Fire you can beat the first like three gyms easy.In Gold/Silver/Crystal I'd say Cyndaquil because Fire is good against the first gym leaders here aswell.In Red/Blue/FR/LF Bulbasaur can beat the first three/four gym leaders easily, perhaps without help even.
