I stopped being able to keep track of them all and their names after GSC, so I am going to stop at that generation and label it as my favorite.

In the first set I think the best was Charizard (I just like flying lizards/dragons 
).In the second set I think Totodile is the best.In the third I like Mudkip (the only water starter not affected by thunder 
).In the fourth I hate them all (I think Nintendo is running out of ideas for new starters

I would think Hikozaru would be, but that wasn't a poll choice.HikozaruCharmanderCydnaquilMudkipThose are from all 4 regions.Hikozaru - Part fighting type evos, like Torchic, and those always turn out to be strong. Hikozaru's evos are mainly tough in defence and good in attack so it gets my vote.Charmander - It evolves into a flying type. I mean the moves Flame Wheel, Fly, Flamethrower and Metal Claw is the ultimate moveset in my opinion. Plus, Charizard is considered the most awesome and strongest pokemon in all the games.Cydnaquil - Quilava is the most dangerous pokemon in GSC. I always choose Cydnaquil in the game because it evoves into such a powerful evo. Plus, Quilava is so cute it begs to pwn.Mudkip - As if anything could beat Swampert. As stupid as it may sound, Mudkip sucks in the begining of the game. You get Marshstomp at a point in the game where it is very bad at battling. But it's all worth it when you get the ultimate water pokemon in RSE. Mudkip is usually always my choise for starter because it is so easy at the end of the game.

I played most R/B/Y and R/S/E.And i always started with Fire pkmn torchic and charmander.But i prefere Charmander in every game if it would be possible ;)Stosta

The third generation of Pokemon is my favorite since it's the latest one I've played. Until the emulators work for the NDS I'm most likely going to be stuck like this. The second and first weren't too bad either.

i agree with you because the first two gym are weak when bulbasaur use its vinewhip..If you mean favorite, I'd say Charmander.But BEST would be Bulbasaur in Red/Blue/Yellow and Fire Red/Leaf Green since you can easily beat the first three Gym leaders.

Any fire type pokemon for me! I love the element fire! But preferably I would go with Torchic, one it evolves to Blaziken, I love using either Blaze Kick or Slash.

Charmander ; it may be weak in the first 2 gyms BUT IT IS VERY POWERFUL AT THE LAST GYMS! this is my orinion..... and i like it because it evolves into charizard which can learn heat wave a SUPER atack:)

Multitypes are the way to go imho, so that leaves Mudkip or Torchic. Although Fighting is a real solid type to have, i prefer Mudkip's water/ground, since it reduces one of the major weaknesses of water - being electric types. Sure multitypes also bring new weaknesses, but since the starters have relatively high tier stats, they will still have some sort of edge.Whoever says Charmander has a weakness against the first gyms? Whenever i got serious i had Charmeleon against Brock, and a Charizard at Misty - or at least a Charmeleon with Slash, those do the trick perfectly. Especially considering Bulbasaur gets weak late on due to lack of solid Grass-moves. I am talking original blue/red here, not firered/leafgreen btw...As for G/S/C i always thought Cindaquil was overpowered in comparison to the others, though Totodile gets a high reg attack later...

Torchic in sapphireMy reason is I find it easier to train to Lvl 15 before the first gym then any other one in any of the games plus its a Fire/Fighting type which makes it more useful i later gym battles.

I like thorchic because when it gets to blaziken it is very strong, besides it gets to a cool pokemon.
Even with the announcement of new Halo projects, the principal trilogy won't be forgotten from our minds as fast as we may expect...

All this starter Pokemon are good but for me is the best starter Pokemon Charmender because it has a very good final evolution and i like Fire Type Pokemon!!!

My favorite of the Pokemon series would have to be the second generation.Much more pokemon to catch, two regions, sixteen badges and such. They need to do something like that in the upcoming games.

I've chose Cyndaquil 85% of the time simply because he looked very promising and I liked the way he looked.I've chose Totodile 10% of the time because I just wanted to try going through with a water starter.I've chose Chikorita 5% of the time because I always started with Bulbasaur in Red/Blue and I had also used the other two starters more and wanted something different.
