i have the fourth gen because i imported itr/e/s has the best storylinec/s/g was the longestr/b/g/y was the first and classicd/p is 3-d, most legends, on dsi dont really know what to pick

Charmander. Charmander evolves into Charizard, Pokemon that can learn Fire, Flying and Dragon attacks and many others, but if you have Dragon Claw, Blast Burn, Fly and Flamethrover (or something like Flamethrover) learned by one Pokemon is really awsome and powerful.And, in Pokemon Yellow you must take Pikachu as your starter, so pusa, you can't take Bulbasaur, but you receive it from Officer Jenny in Cerulean City after you earn Cerulean Gym badge.Pikachu is the best starter, but it's not main starter.

Charmander would be my choice, gotta stick with the classics, plus I always choose fire types.

i say squirtle since he has defense to make up for his weakness like most water pokemon get 1 hit ko to thunder squirtle when he's a blastoise doesn't 
and for the gold/silver version series i find cyndaquil the best or he just looks cool lol while the ruby/sapphire series i gotta say mudkip that water/ground type helps alot

Depends on the element. Water-wise, Mudkip's got it since the water/ground combination rocks against eletric (but grass-types toast it). Cyndaquil has the best special attack for fire starters (and isn't dual type later on), and grass-wise I'm gonna go with Bulbasaur. Seems to be the most resourceful.

i would choose charmander because once it gets to charizard then it will be able to fly and charizard has powerful attacks

the first one is the best one...it was nice and new...but the rest were lame copies with slightly different pokemon each time...

I liked alot of them....well i just like pokemon in general >.>but i'd have to say, Fire Red, i new twist to and old story lol...But i also loved yellow, cause pikachu was sooo adorable....But the Con of it was no more MissingNo....I was sad >.>

I think Fire Red and Leaf Green were definitely the best. Nothing's better than the originals....especially if they're in color!

Cyndaquil, it was the strongest of the three, and Cyndaquil looked so cute, that I kept in it's first form the entire game.
