I'll have to agree here... Final Fantasy is one of the most well-known and widely-played RPG of all time. There really is no comparison here because KH borrows content from the FF series to make it as good as it is... I still to this day play the FFs from NES and SNES from before the playstation platform was even a thought in the minds of Sony. KH is an awesome series, but to compare it to FF would just be degrading to FF. Anyway, they're on the same team... long live... whatever they want to call themselves... Square... Sun... Soft... Enix... The kings of the RPG genre!Overall, FF's had a much longer history, and KH borrows a lot of that. KH really shows more of the Square-Enix side of its development more than it does the Disney, many were scared of that- that Disney would be too prominant. It blends beloved childhood favorites with an intriguing story and a marvelous cast of original characters, then throw in popular FF cameos. Then add in the US version got a cast of nothing but celerities to do the voice overs, something that wasn't done in the past- sure celebrities did video game voice overs, but never the entire cast (ironically, Wing Commander the movie-- Freddy Prince Jr. But Wing Commander the games---Mark Hamill...Luke Skywalker himself...
). In the contrast, FF has been on a decline since FF7- I'm not one of those fanboys who are all "ZoMG SEFIRoTH!!11oneone!!" It was a great game, a great final fantasy, and 8 and so on failed to match it. I would say 6 was the best of the FFs.Specifically going to the GBA games; you've got Final Fantasy 1 and 2 rehashed and passed off as new games- granted most here are probably too young to know the days of the Famicom and the NES. So most young ones wouldn't remember or even know about the original FF, let alone that FF2 wasn't released in North America, neither was 3. Then you have an overly complicated version of FFT with species and modified classes.Put that against Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories....bleh story made as filler for KH2, coupled with an annoying battle system. The card based thing for all actions was not needed- having the cards for summons or as items for battle use would have been much less of a headache. The best part was Reverse/Rebirth, since ever since KH1 people have been wanting to play as Riku.I have to give the vote to FF, simply because it didn't tamper with what worked- FF1 and 2 retained the classic ATB, and FFTA was a typical grid based tactics game. KH was too bold in its changes and dropped the ball- not to say it was a bad game, just the system should have been more streamlined.
