Is anyone sick of the final fantasy series or all those RPGs(?) from square? I'm just so sick and tired of non-tactical turn based and cheesy j-idol anime. When will it all be really FINAL?

well, i'm not sure if anyone said this before (too lazy to go through all 13 pages) but Final Fantasy is so called because:Squaresoft produced lots of games for the ps and gb, but they were all failures, (about 50++ games didn't even make it into other countries) this led to them almost closing down, so with the last thousand bucks or so, they produced Final Fantasy as the Final game they would make, however, this game turned into a major hit and.... well, i'm sure all of you know the rest...

After FF7, the FF series is so... boring, now I hate it, the FFX and FFX-2 make me sick, a lot !I prefer Shadow Hearts : Convenant, this game is very good compared to the FF series, it's better !Here's my opinion... :P

I don't think I'll get sick of it, they do change up the gameplay mechanics quite a bit through out the whole series.

In my opinion final fantasy will be around for quite a while. somebody said they'd like it to keep going till 500.. i'm not quite sure of that but it would be nice.To be 100% honest i don't understand the plot of final fantasy because i've never played all of them or even one of them completely. that's not saying i don't like the games... i think they're great, and although they're RPG games i'm interested to know what it'd be like if FFXII was a full on fighting game (like where ur in a battle field and ur swinging a sword around like a madman) instead of turn-based fighting. Somehow i don't think that would happen though.

I think that Final Fantasy games are just astonishing but the things is many people can't appreciate them or don't allow themselves to do so. For some it's not just their type of game, they hate reading long dialogues and watching melancholic cut-scenes (which is in fact the things the fans really love). Then there is the people who keeps complaining about every FF after VII, Yes VII was excellent but that should not make you feel that the other games were bad or something like that, every one of them was good on its own right. I don't understand why people are still looking for that reminiscent essence of the past in the games of the future. You can't say that FFI or FFII are great now, ok they were in their time, but fellows time to move on and allow yourselves to enjoy the series you supposedly love.

I would agree, after 7 they kept trying and trying and just could not get any better, infact I think it degenerated from that one. i mean, LOOK AT 11!! wtf is that?

FF X-2 was a let-down, but all the others are great..|Edit|oh, and I should mention that the main reason that kept me form buying a x-box instead of a ps2, were the FF games :P

You can't really call it crap or get tired of it because its preference. There is game or type of game for everyone it just depends on personality and preference.

I liked all of the Final Fantasy Games I have played, though I thought some of the thing they tried to do in FFX-2 didn't work out. but it was an enjoyable game for me at least.

My first Final Fantasy was VII, any other games after that left me feeling unenlightened. I'm honestly sick of the series, they should quit already and try venturing into new territories.

I agree it's about time they ventured into new territories with the series, and that seems to be what they're trying with FF12....but judging by the demo, I'm not impressed with the new direction. I'll gladly take Grandia 3 instead.

I will never get tired of the final fantasy series because each final fantasy video game is like a reading a good book. The characters and the setting of the game makes it feel like your apart of their world. What do you guys mean by ventured into new territories with the series or do you guys mean the company? Each final fantasy videogame is different from all the others, and each ones has there own unique battle system. There are other games made my Square Enix's like Dragon Quest which it currently the one number RPG series in Japan.

The differences in the battle systems for Final Fantasy 1 through X-2 are minimal (let's just ignore 11 for now), take away the graphics of the recent games and you'll realize they all play quite similarly. The only real difference is that some of the games use the Active Time Battle system instead of being fully turn-based. Final Fantasy 12 is the first true deviation from the classic gameplay.

No i am not tired because I find that the stories, while similar, are character driven and still engrossing. Sure nothing can match FFVII when sephiroth killed aeris, but that was just genius
