Ryu of the Breath of fire series is the best hero! He has the story, design and powerwhich makes a great main character he also has a lovely angel to boot 
(in each and every version).

Cloud and Squall first..........and Zero from Megaman X, some people hate that games, but it's one from my favourite games.

Mostly the same, except mine is Ryu from Breath of Fire 3. Talk about a powerful kid! (or adult). Other than that, Cloud from FFVII, Cloud Rocks!!!My favorite is Ryu from Breath Of Fire 4
