Because I knew that I'd play the hell out of it in time. I'd been through multiple pieces of hardware for each generation of software before it (a cumulative 3 GBs, 2 GBC, and 2 GBA) just out of sheer use. Portables are my favorite game system, as it still feels like a game.

I thought the touch screen was cool...Plus, my GBA broke, so...that gave me an excuse. XP

Mainly for Megaman ZX and Mario Kart. Also, There were a few GBA game I wanted, and I had no GBA. So why not kill two birds with one stone and get a DS? Only I can't trade Pokemon between GBA games on a DS.

i bought it so i could play the metroid games and the zelda game. now since i have the r4 chip for i can play anything i want, even watch movies and listen to mp3's

i only buy a nintendo ds because of pokemon pearl and diamond versionand hoping some more version will come in dspeace,.,.,.,

My neighbour got one, pluss I checked up on games availability and there where a bit more games for the DS than the PSP

i bought it because my SP was ACCSADENTALY broke by mr little brother and luckly it was around when the DS was released

Totally bought it for the games.. I know there are many fun games on this system and many more to come.. Nintendo's always beent he best with hand helds.

2 reasons - Etrian Odessey and Harvest Moon. I've always been a sucker for Atlus and NISA games, and well, gardening sims rock!
