I guess the reason for me was it had Mario Kart and everybody had one so I had to get one.

Trauma Centre, Elite Beat Agents, Mario Kart, Castlevania, Megaman. Those 5 games/series made me want to buy the DS. And the lack of any decent emulators sealed the deal so to speak.

Lol I bought a DS because I wanted to play Megaman ZX. I really liked the Zero Series and i heard ZX was like a sequel to it so I couldnt wait anymore and just bought one. I cant wait till ZX Advent comes out

I bought the DS because I thought the idea of two screens (one as a touch screen) was amazing. It seemed like a revelation in gaming. Unfortunately, it wasn't as great as I thought it would be.

I bought my first DS when Nintendogs came out, mostly because I knew I wouldn't get to use my little brother's, since he would be using it for his Nintendogs game.And I still have that DS (no matter how many times I've wanted to sell it. =p)

the DS looked pretty fun with the touch screen and alli guess the dual screen and the touch screen are wat fascinated me the most about the DSand besides, nintendo wasnt gonna make anymore gba games after awhile, so i might as well get a DS for new games

What made me buy it was, i was bored. I needed to play something new, then i saw the new pokemon game was out on DS.And then i checked out the reviews of Phoenix Wright on gamespot.com. I noticed a new version of DS called LITE was out.I fell in love with the white version it looked kind of ipodish.Then i saw some videos of m3 ds simply on youtube and decided to buy the DS and a m3 flashcart, after that i lived happily ever after.What i play right now is:Elite beat agents (this game is really good, funny story lines with cartoon animations, and good music, hard gameplay.)Pokemon pearl (its good but i got bored quickly, i replaced the pochama with a shiny mew, level 10.what sucks is you can only battle online with people on your friends list, and 0 of my friends own a DS so i cant really play with anyone online.)Mario kart ds (i only play this on wifi, last nite i raced with someone from mexico, usa and japan. i love this game.)Phoenix wright 1 ( this game rocks, cool anime, and the boy in my avatar is from this game, i just love yelling OBJECTION in game.)

Dude DS rocks, and like almost all my friends have one so i dont wanna be a loner. and besides i got half of the money selling pokemon cards i bought from garage sales LOL.

Because it was Nintendo's new portable console and looked like it had some great games for it. I haven't been disappointed. This was within a week or so of it coming out as well.
