Link is the coolest!, hes like a mute hero! and i agree with the hat comment, how cool is it that he can get away with wearing tights,a questionable hat and make it look totally cool?!...probably because of his sword...

Link dresses in green and secretly people like Luigi, but he's such a nerdy wimp... so they rather like Link because he dresses in green too but he owns because he's a legendary hero with various weapons... unlike Luigi! Haha no...but maybe?? More likely, it's because Link goes into dungeons and beats up on crazy monsters, solves puzzles, and makes it look good while doing it
