Futurama is just too unrealistic...

Right, I forgot that bright yellow skin and not having the character age within the 20 years that the show has been on the air is totally realistic. :rolleyes:No cartoon is 100% realistic, that's why they're cartoons.

Oooo.... this is a really tough one... I have to go with The Simpsons. It's been around longer and laid the groundwork for this animated sitcom type of show. Year after year, they've managed to come up with brilliant material, that is not only funny, but smart as well, allowing a greater range of people to enjoy it. A lot of the situations relate to real life or are just so bizarre, that you can't help but be entertained by the crazy shenanigans.Futurama, on the other hand, is a bit more, er, crude, if you will. It's got the same level of hilarity, but they often delve into topics that are unsuitable for most people. Don't get me wrong, I love that sort of stuff, but when it comes down to quality entertainment, if you can be funny without being dirty, then you know you're a comedic success.

I like The Simpsons more then Futurama. I think it's funnier (because of the stupidity in Homer) and I've know it longer (I've seen every episode).

Futurama has got Simpsons beat in every way except shear volume of episodes. It's not a bad thing because I don't think Futurama had anywhere to evolve to. But being the second son, everyone just knew what they were doing so much better. And also I'm a nerd so I like the physics jokes...don't beat me!

I'd have to say Futurama. Simpsons is OK, but I've always been a sci-fi fan so Futurama has a special place in my heart. It's very literate regarding its sources, and a lot of the humor goes over peoples' heads (also, you have to be a bit older to remember some of that stuff).Plus, I have a HUGE crush on Leela :dan:

As far as you saying that Futurama having nowhere to evolve to..I mean, they were 1,000 years into the future, which made for an endless well of storylines, no matter how far-fetched (though that really didn't work out for the Futurama 'movies' imo).I dunno, they started great, ended pretty good. They were on a slow decline, so in a way I'm kinda glad they ended while they were still worth watching. Nobody likes a show that wears out its welcome.

The Simpsons, its just so classic for me by this point. Basically grew up with the Simpsons. Always wondered why they had yellow skin until I googled it~ Though I love Futurama too, just not as much. Bender is absolutely hilarious!

futurama's more consistently funny, but that may just be because all the simpsons they show on the tv channels I get are repeats I've seen lots before. I haven't seen any of the newer simpsons so I don't know what they're like.

Futurama, the simpsons arn't that funny any more. Sure theres a few decent epis here and there, but for the most part there starting to crumble. Cant blame them tho 20 seasons of any show, will eventually tear at it.

As I've said before, I like Futurama much more then the Simpsons. Maybe it's because the Simpsons got too predictable over the years, maybe it's because most of their current writers suck, or maybe I'm just tired of seeing them trying to be more "random" (read: more like Family Guy). Yeah, the old episodes still get a few laughs out of me, but I don't even bother watching the newer episodes from the last few years.
