I can't stand the sense of superiority. I've had a couple of great experiences, including a cop suggesting he'd come back to hit the keg at a party until he passed out in our lawn after responding to a noise complaint. But mostly it's just a bad taste in my mouth from being harassed in high school simply for being young...although, to be fair, I WAS getting into trouble left and right

For me, I like em when they save people and when I am in need of help and they come n help, but I hate them when they arrest someone or stops someone's car just so they can get paid... ridiculous.

I don't really mind them. Like, I don't mind if they're here or not as long as I'm not surrounded by criminals.

I dont hate all cops or like all cops......some cops are the stereotypical hard*** that has way to much authority for their ego to handle......but ive also met some really cool cops.

I can understand that feeling very strongly, living in New Zealand it would freak me out if cops started carrying guns. My image of cops in U.S.A is also not helped by what you see on their 'reality' cop shows. As for the police in New Zealand I like them quite a bit, I like to think our police force is much more humane than what I have seen of U.S.A. Although the terror raids of a few years ago does fly in the face of that.I don't have a particular like or dislike for cops, I just.... have an extreme, irrational fear of them. I don't know why. I have ever since I was a little kid. I've been trying to get myself over it for years, since I don't do anything wrong that they'd crack down on me for, and yet, I'm still afraid of them. I think it's the fact that they carry guns, because I'm not scared of British cops.

Neither, I've never known a cop personally or anything. I've never had any brushes with the law so I can't judge from my experience. However, from reports of friends and articles, I gather that we can't really make a generalization as for all police. Some are overly egotistical, some are hard-working, some are corrupt, some are friendly and some of them are complete losers who over indulge themselves in the delusion of of their supposed powerfulness.Having said that, I would say that I do not harbour feelings of either pointed dislike or amicability towards the law enforcers.
Try typing the word "fa!l" on dgemu when posting, it appears as succeed. Spell it properly though, F-A-I-L without the dashes, doh!

Yeah, I live in the USA and the show COPS can be pretty brutal sometimes, but really most of them are pretty nice, cool guys who are under a lot of stress and may overreact. Except in Texas. In Texas, cops can pull you over just for being from out-of-state and/or with a licence plate that isn't Texan. I agree that stress is certainly something to take into consideration as well as differences in culture. As much of the stuff I see them do in shows like that is very uncommon in New Zealand. I have even seen an episode where they tackled a suicidal person. I hate cops. If I said anything different back then, that was back then.I just hate them because they can get me into trouble. I mean, they're there when you don't want them to be there. And they're not there when you need them the most.Other than that, if a friend's a cop and he's not wearing his badge with uniform, he's cool to me.

The job cops are supposed to be doing sometimes get done, sometimes not. It depends on the cop.The police officers around my area seem very nice and considerate.1. Just a couple days ago, my brother rolled through a red light instead of stopping before turning right. The cop just went on his megaphone and said, "A red light means stop. Next time stop instead of rolling through. Go buy a lotto ticket, it's your lucky day."2. I was speeding on my way to church because I was late and was stopped by a cop. When he got to my window, he noticed my clothes and said, "It looks like you're on your way to church." After asking what time I had to be there and where my church was, he let me off with a warning instead of a ticket.I do not like other cops though that do not follow the law even though they should be the first ones following it. I especially dislike the ones that disobey the no cellphone (without a hands free) law while driving here in California. Since it has been banned I always see cops on their cellphones while driving. Those are the only cops I really dislike, the ones that believe they're above the law.

Well, a few cops are actually family friends. I've gone out cruising in the unmarked car with him, gave me rides home from school back in the day. I've never had any bad experiences with cops. Guess I'd have to say I like them, and they like me for the most part.

Most cops are very helpful and there for i like them very much. haven't ever hated a cop and never had andy bad experiences with them either.

Hey i like the cops on different methods, but when it come to that the police is driving in front of us and the cops are looking at me at the street is not so funny when i have done a little thing that actually costed 50$Nicest of all is that we didn't need to pay.. And i scared about cops..Thannks

I like cops, their people who have got to do a tough job of keeping people safe, it's a job with danger that's not that easy. That and they tend to be very nice to kids.

I don't like em cuz they are always there when you do something wrong but not when somebody else does something wrong and if ur driving or someting they will pull u over when the person beside u is going the same speed.

Half and half.I see what they are neccesary for. I like the idea of the purpose of the police. People who track down bad guys and make the place safer. Unfortunately, that isn't always true. Somepeople abuse that power they have. that i don't like.But just as there are bad cops there are good copsSo my praise goes out to the men and women who ACTUALLY try to make this country better. the people who ACTUALLY care.
