I think it depends on whether you're travelling a lot or not.If you are at home very often, and you do not go to friends to play computergames, I recommend you to get a PC.If you travel a lot and want to do things on your way to your destination, the laptops the most obvious choice.

For hardcore gamers, a PC is better than a laptop anyday. Laptops are too delicate for games which needs you to spam buttons. But laptops are also sleek and you can take it with you if you travel a lot.But normally, I would prefer a PC over a laptop simply because, it's easier to upgrade and easier to handle than a laptop. Power consumption comes afterwards.

Laptops can last around 5 years until they get too old to run apps and arent upgradable, whereas with PC's you can upgrade for up to 10 years, My comp is 6 yrs old with one major upgrade e.g Mobo + Cpu and 1-2 minor ones e.g new HDD, DVD-RW

A laptop is a computer...For some things, like surfing the web or for general portability, a laptop (which I'm typing on right now) would be preferred. For gaming, a desktop PC, definitely. Easier to upgrade, plus they usually come with better components for less price than an inferior laptop.

I rock the Sony VAIO and its pretty gangsta, lots of memory quick precessor and looks good too. Not to mention lightweight and durable. Only real problem is that you need the extended life battery so it last for more than 2 or 3 hours. Charges up quick too.by the way the laptop is cool because you can take it anywhere in the house with a wireless network and also travel with it too. so definitely a laptop

I love my laptop for writing because I have it upstairs, and that's the best place for me to write. I also love it for games on vacation. For major gaming, and for internet, I love the pc. Then I can be downstairs watching my fish too! Also, when one is broken down, the other is still alive and you can still stay online.

A computer is stronger, my laptop can't handle some games (I really would like to be able to play fable for example)but as i'm a student and divide my time between two places, a laptop is just a lot more convinient, and I grew used to it

Laptops are better, they don't need much energy and are portable and also the performace isn't that badbut a good laptop could be very expensive, but you can get some good for 1000 €, i think, this is okay. The only disadvantage is that you can't exchange some parts if they are defect like the mainboard or the graphic chipBut if i have the money, i am using my laptop ^^

Computers since you can build one from parts yourself. They are easy to upgrade also.

I have both, and I find that both are good for what I need them for. You can't really say which one is better because they are two totally different things that are used for different situations. ^^ Of course you can't beat a good ol' Alien Ware PC. xP
