yes,yes it is,but they should try something new,like a hack and slash game with squall,cloud or sephiroth,i think that wopuld be pretty kool as long as it kept with a good story like and a few movies scenes,or maybe an anime-style game other then that a good rpg game is star ocean 3,but ive never played star ocean 1 or 2

the old Final fantasy games were awesome from ff7 back. the new ones aint so good. I dont even know why they're called rpg games. I'd say the best rpg would be like star wars: knights of the old republic beacuse you actually choose what you wanna do, being good or evil and it's YOUR character. also don't like how the newer final fantasies have the girliest looking dudes ever.

For me, Final Fantasy gave me more reason why i should indulge in RPGs. It sorta like a base for me. Without Final Fantasy, i probably wouldnt play and enjoy other similar/better/worse RPGs. Suikoden and Xenosaga were close runners.

FF could be or could not be the best RPG game people have different opinions, i dont really think FF is the best RPg i thinks its just a good RPG game, i think most RPG are good, FF one of the best though, maybe some RPG are even equal to FF?

It's just very good...but it's like talking about Dream Theater and Progressive Metal... DT aren't the best, they're just the most popular...Imho, Star Ocean is hugely better...

No it is not the best. And in my opinion, there are better ones out there. One of them would be Valkyrie Profile. It has a flexible storyline, a large amount of characters, and very unique gameplay. The only place you can find it now though is on Ebay. And I have to agree, that though Star Ocean's story is not quite as good as FFs, it is still wins to to the combination of story and gameplay. (FF is just story, playing is kind of boring, the only fun thing to do is the story.)

It depends on which Final Fantasy you're talking about. There are well over 20 titles. Possibly over 30. Even still, I'd have to say Kingdom Hearts wins this one. Don't get me wrong, Final Fantasy VII was a heck of a game, as was Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls, but I still have to give the win to Kingdom Hearts. Turn-based games just don't cut it anymore.

IMO FF was great until FFVI, then the series fell apart with the exception of FFT.I've always been a big fan of the Shadow Hearts series to be honest. But IMO, Xenogears is the greatest RPG ever.

to my mind , we can't compare rpg because there are too many factors:music,game,design,.....final fantasy is a reference but there are others great rpg as star ocean 3 or magna carta

I think it depends on what you want from an rpg. FF is a great series, but it is turnbased and if you don´t like that you´re not going to like FF. I love turnbased rpg´s so FF is still top of the bill for me

Ok I get into this argument all the time. The main reason people think 9 isn't all that great is because it's seems slightly more childish in comparrison. If you just let go of any judgements and play the game for the game it's reallly good. I mean the card is crazy fun and so is chocobo hot and cold. The story line isn't the best but it's not bad in any way. I think 9 is one of my favorite ff'sWell yeah all of the FF series is awsome except for 9

It depends, I think. Final Fantasy games have always had really good characters and storylines and a good bit of sidequests/mini-games. Although, it's cool to have games in which you can create your own character and alter his stats to your liking. Kinda like in Morrowind for the PC and X-box (sorry for saying that on the PS2 forum). I like both types but sometimes the storyline and characters outrule the personal creation stuff although those games are cool.

i personally think they are definately in the top 3 RPG's of all time so far. Although, the newer ones are definately not as good as the older ones. i wish they would have stayed with the pre-renderd backgrounds... just imagine how much better they could have made the graphix if the engine didnt have to render all the backgrounds on the PS2. But they really need to get rid of the voice acting though. its terrible. or spend the time and lip sync in the other languages.Appart from FF there is also the Phantasy Star series which is a great one! Cant wait for PS Universe.

I also think that Final Fantasy is one of the best, It is not THE best anymore. FFX was fine, good even. But FFX-2 was horrible, the only good thing about it was instant class changes. Star Ocean 3, the Xenosaga series and perhaps Wild Arms Series are just as good if not better. I have to get my hands on WA: Alter code F and 4

Oh hell yeah i have every single one 1-12, (12 playable demo), FFT, FFTA, and anyother final fantasy game i cant name atm. FF is hands down the best RPG ever made. :touche:
