I had both red and blue, I just used red to get the beginning pokemon for the blue version, then I caught them all, I like Red and Blue, cause I like the first 151 pokemon

I loved it. I have the game still. I got the rom on my PSP and I have the entire game memorized. The lil in-game hacks and everything. To one of the games that had me buying batteries every 2 day. Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow.

Fire red kind of sucked in my opinion, but regular red version for the gameboy pocket was epic. at the time pokemon wasnt for children,it was for hard-core Nintendo fans. I do recommend downloading the ROM

red/blue/yellow. Started my rpg career and the long grinds that come with them...it did it right!EDIT: I still like yellow the best. Although there were only a few graphics differences I thought "red looks awful!" when I saw it because I got yellow first.

One of the best games ever made in my opinion. Hardly anything wrong with it and it's very very addicting.

My very first pokemon game that i got was Pokemon Yellow...and that time i thought it was the best ever! And the Pokemon Blue and Red Came out...And i got Pokemon Red First...it was so cool...then you could choose your starter pokemon, it was so cool...it was something different from Yellow...and then ofcourse Gold and Silver came out, and that was like a total different class of Pokemon Games! Hehe

Of course, you realize that Yellow came out AFTER Pokemon Red/Blue on the Gameboy Color, right? As for it being a whole different class, I disagree; it was the same kind of game, had the same basic point, they just added a real-time clock and a few other features to it as well as a whole new area to explore.

i played blue first, though there isnt much difference. i disliked yellow, due to the lack of choice in the started pokemon. even though these games were amazing, i liked gold and silver better. better graphics, better gameplay, and the newest pokemon game that was still original. after that, theyre all the same.

Every game after Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue was just a rehashing of old ideas. The original two games were revolutionary. Every Pokemon game after Red and Blue were just a rehash of the formula that the first two created. I am curious how you view gold and silver as radically changing the game play enough to call the game original? The only Pokemon to be unique (for the franchise) after Red and Blue was Pokemon Pinball.

Fire Red is fun as hell, but I will never forget how Original Red slashed the long hours going on vacation to Florida or something.

*Squeals in delight*Ah Red, that takes me back... *busts out Gameboy Colour and plays Pokemon Red again**Ahem* It was a fun game, set the bar high for the subsequent ones (only met in Ruby/Silver and raised in Diamon IMHO) and it was such an awesome game, both at the time and now looking back.It was the ultimate time-killer, but unlike most time-killers was actually awesome fun!
