It all depends on the game's storyline and target audience. Companies wouldn't put truckloads of sex scene for a game designed for little kids, would they? In some games, Some sex scene might be needed, but I think sex in games is just not right.GPs were deducted for this post, please read the rules! - jamzemu

No. Just no.If you want sex in games, there already are enough hentai games and stuff like that... It doesn't belong into other games because it hasn't anything to do with most of their stories/gameplay. And of course people would easily get offended- as they like to be with virtual violence... ;)

I agree with this. What is the point in adding sex to a game? If I am playing say Pokemon, what possible reason would there be to throw sex into the game? I guess you can mean for a certain genre. Or possible just more mature themed games. But overall, if I am playing a game, I want to play the game. A flash of breast isn't going to make the game any better or worse. It will only bring up controversy that I really don't think game designers should bring upon themselves. And it could even get to the point that added sex could be annoying/awkward. I don't want to be playing a game and there be some sexual scene whene I'm with friends/parents. And if every game had a sex scene, I would get incredibly annoyed by it because I would assume that is generally adds no overall value.

I think it really does depend on the game in general whether or not there should be sex in it really regardless of what type of sex it is. I mean take the Mass Effect series as a good example, instead of having sex in the game cheapen storyline and character aspects, its instead used to expand on character and (despite what some people may say) isnt to titillate. Unfortunatly I do think that sex is being placed into games just as a quick sell. For instance Bayonetta has a lot of (near) nudity and sexual innuendo that just isnt needed and ultimately, despite the game being a pretty damn good game, it cheapens the whole thing and also probably dissuades a large percentage of female gamers from buying said game.

What about sex in games in the context of porn? Do you guys feel that it's morally wrong to use videogames as a medium for just straight-up gonzo pornography? I personally think it's a great idea. It's like combining two of my favorite hobbies!

As long as said videogames are not ones that are publicly store-front sold ala normal retail games and instead are sold like any other pornographic material (Internet, specialist shops, clear warnings etc etc). While I do think it wouldnt help the matter of Video Games being seen as publicly viable by everyone, it would be unfair to restrict sales while allowing the sales of pornographic material in books/magazines and video. Its a tough balance to find, one that is compounded by the fact that I cant see any mainstream developers putting in the money and effort to create such a game, only for it to be sold in such a restrictive way. That and nowadays consoles are getting harder and more expensive to develop for, when it comes to sex within games, it makes more commercial sense to limit the amount to a rating that doesnt hit the point where said game is unsellable within normal stores.

Sex isn't a big deal. Most people, a HUGE majority of human beings, engage in it multiple times throughout their lives. Sex is something that happens, and it's usually a great thing that everybody enjoys. If a game is rated for adults, then there shouldn't be any sexual limitations (excluding maybe the more extreme and disturbing things that some people like to include with sex). It's sex. Get over it. What's disturbing is that, in America at least, we treat sex in video games as a major issue. "No! No sex! I will not sell that smut in my store, good sir!" But we barely blink at the incredible amounts of exaggerated gore and violence. Think about that for a second. We are literally more uptight about sex than we are about player controlled massacre. There's no question about it. You have to wonder what this says about our society. Another thing that needs to happen is this: People need to realize that video games aren't all for young people. I think we can all agree that not all movies are for kids. Not all books are for kids. Not all music is for children. So why are we still treating video games in a manner that suggests they're mainly for children? A very large percentage of gamers are in our 20s. I don't have the link to back this up, but you can google it and find multiple surveys that support this statement. So, let's consider some facts: There is a lot of sex in movies. There is a lot of sex in books. There is a lot of sex in music. So why shouldn't there be sex allowed in videogames?

having sexual scenes in a gud game ruins that game....really..but I'm indiffernt as long as it doesn't mess up the gameplay or story.Too much of that belongs in the losery games, not ruining the good ones.GPs were deducted for this post, please read the rules! - shadowmanwkp

I don't think it's exactly necessary to have more. There are already plenty of adult themed arcade games out there and PD roms too (e.g. Animanga). It's so weird though with those arcade adult themed puzzle games. It could look like a perfectly normal tetris game, but as you play, more and more of the porn-like picture is revealed. I of course shut the game off the moment I notice that (I have way too many MAME roms to go through to filter out these kinds of games).

It does depend on the storyline. But I believe if there was more sex in standard/normal games then it would be more reason for parent's, women, and critics in general to speak out against, and hate video games. I would consider the idea of making 2 versions of a game one that is very inapropriate (sex, insane violence) and one that isn't so dirty. I say this because when I look at many of the popular games on shelves today there aren't many "cool" T games anymore its all going straight to M. also games that have one dirty part (sex scene) are ridiculous often a game must be rated more adult like because of 5 to 20 seconds of cutscene with not so great R rated material. For adults sex scenes don't matter but when a kid can't get that new grand theft auto game because of 5 seconds of content it is really just pathetic.

yes i think there should be more sex in video games. sex is a part of everyday life. actually, sex is necessary to life and for life. sex is on almost everybody's minds, so why tryta cover it up. you think the crazy old mamas who protest against sex in video games don't think bout sex all the time? often, those annoying people who get outraged over sexual themes in games and movies are the biggest perverts of em all. put on a prude front, and you're most likely overcompensating for some wild fetishes underneath. so i say screw the hypocritical protesters. give the actual customers what they want. and truth be told, most geeky teenagers and aging nerds who love video games love having sex in the games. it adds an interesting spice to the game's story, jus as romance does. but ay, in real life, romance usually leads to sex, so why not give these games that intriguing sexual element? i mean, these developers already put these sexy babes in the games anyway. what purpose does that serve? i'll tell you what it serves, as a marketing student. they're selling sex, plain and simple. advertisers and marketers all know: sex sells. so give the customers what they want, let the developers make some more bucks (and have fun developing the sex themes as well haha), and make the story/gameplay more interesting. i aint saying put sex in all games. but label a specific game as mature, and put that interesting sexual element, which is already on everybody's minds, into these more adult games. jus like in the movies, the sex makes the story better. it might not really add any depth to the actual storyline, but it appeals to people. let the perverts of the world (and by which i mean everybody in the world) indulge in video game fantasies. aren't most games bout role-playing anyway? bout immersing yourself into the game's world? put more sex in games and let's all use our imaginations hahaha

That's a very good point, actually. Look at all the former alcoholics who turn into Jesus freaks-- suddenly they've never done anything wrong and are above criticism. Bill Bennet is another good example. Here's a guy who did nothing but protest against gambling...only to come out in the news that he himself was a degenerate gambler.

I don't think it's so much a question of whether it should be in games like the angry parents of some communities say, mainly because sex is apart of games, espcially in the last decade gaming and games themselves have evolved so much so that the sales of games far out does the sales of movies per year, more people buy games for entertainment then movies nowdays so I think it's only natural that games include themes such as sex. I mean, games now even have ratings for their content, and if they are at the same level of entertainment as movies or higher then of course such themes will be there, I think it's just another step in advancement for gaming and like movies with the right rating should include such things.

No.I don't want to have sex in games. (Unless it's like "The Sims" and you have to "do it" to get a baby.)I'd rather kill people, or whatever. Besides, if I wanted sex, I'd just call up my boyfriend, not get it from a video game.GPs were deducted for this post, please read the rules! - tedsb16

Sex in computer games is fine if it fits the nature of the game and doesn't come off like it's been shoehorned in just to have a sexual element to the game. The only problem is that the media and parents at large don't pay attention to this tiny but important fact; they just see that sex is in the game and get up-in-arms and you get the usual parade of morality police who insist that sex in games is part of the reason for the ills of children today and certain sections of the media are so happy to play along that they manipulate or outright lie about game content just to seem more 'right'.Discussions like that are infuriating not just because they are usually based more on paranoia and fear of the sexual content rather than the content itself, but because at no point in this arguments do you hear anyone point out that these games are usually for Teens or Mature audiences only and questioning where the parents are of these young kids playing games that they shouldn't have in the first place. If Mr and Mrs Prim are so petrified that they're little cherub might get corrupted by sordid sexual content like women with skirts above the knee or dresses that show shoulder, why don't they do a better job of having control over what they're darling does. Don't let them have a computer or console, or even a TV in their room if that they're that worried about what's out there in the big bad world at large. Pay better attention to what your children are doing instead of foisting the responsibility on to other people and then blaming everyone but yourselves when your little darling manages to get hold of Big Tittied Broads Take Manhattan and then starts beating it off to a bunch of pixelated breasts.

Depends on what the game is. If it doesn't call for it to set a mood between two or multiple characters then it isn't really needed at all. If you want games with sex in it then go play them on the internet since there is plenty of games all based on sex.GPs were deducted for this post, please read the rules! - tedsb16

Sex in games I think is a good idea as long as it's not just the main thing in the game. If it is part of the storyline then It would be alright. However, in America, those kinds of games do exist...but many have to either import them, or download them. A game with sex in it would automatically get the Adults Only rating...and the game makers can't sell them in mainstream stores.

i dont think sex is an issue in video games. if you dont like it then dont buy it for yourself or your kids. plain and simple. some people like sex in video games and some dont care and some hate it. well dont buy it, dont play it, dont look at it. its pointless if you buy a game and complain about the sex on it. take it back dont sit there and complain!
