Regular maths in isn't so bad really. Calculus, however, is evil in it's purest and most terrifying form, as it is difficult, time consuming, rather dull, and for the most part entirely unapplicable to real-life situations. Avoid it if you can unless you want a career in pure mathematics or engineering.

Are you sure? I'm taking calculus this year. I think it's actually pretty easy and I sure as hell am not going into pure mathematics... (too much time proving the obvious) However the worst subject ever is French. Heh, I just try to scrape by on it. It's my worst class.

Geez, what's wrong with you guys? Math is the best subject. It's always "This and this, equals this" Always the same. Very reliable, it's just simple deductive logic that can figure it out, and it's always the same answer no matter who you are.My most hated subjects are either Science, or Soclial studies. Why? Because, simply put, they are the most fugging useless things you could be taught. Why do I need to learn what some ancient king did 3300 years ago, and how does it affect me? Why not teach me about present day politics, and about the current Gulf war, so we don't stumble onto a forum looking like an idiot saying "George Bush sux cuz he made us go to war!", about the NAFTA or NATO treaties. Teach us how ecomony works and how to plan retirement since social security will be anihilated by the time we get to that age!Why do we need to learn what the insides of a worm looks like? Why do we need to know that carbon dioxide in this pill will make the blue liquid in this beaker turn yellow? If you are going to teach us specifics about science when a third of the class will most likely end up working in front of a computer, why not teach us how to install networks and firewalls, why not teach us how to construct programs and properly file things on a computer? Why not teach us proper maintenance on a car, and what to do if it breaks down?Things like these that have little application in real life I think is what makes kids hate school. Why? Because it's so boring and useless! While I agree that math is important, Why the hell are some people being taught how to find how fast light travels through water? When will we ever use that? There are some important things to be taught to people, rest assured. However, there are some things that most people don't really need to know, because they will never choose such a profession where such knowledge is required, much less, very usefull in any way, shape or form. *Goes off on tangent*

RE. I absolutely hated it and went through a couple of years doing only about 5 pieces of work a year. Gave it up as soon as possible. Thank god.Oh, and maths is fun. Possibly a touch biased as I'm doing Maths and Further Maths at A-level.
