Well, when it comes to most practical language, English: it's the easiest to learn, in my opinion. I love how French and Italian sound, especially Parisian French and Milanese Italian--they both sound very sophisticated. My favourite Oriental language has to be Japanese because it sounds much softer and less jarring than other Oriental languages, Vietnamese and Indonesian especially. I'd have to say Arabic spoken by those on the Gulf (Saudi Arabia, etc.) is very jarring on the ears. The Lebanese Arabic is much softer, for instance, because it has a lot of influence from French, Italian, Greek and Turkish. "Cholo" Spanish also bugs me, when "Cholo" women fight, it sounds like chickens fighting.

English is the only language I know well, but I was forced to learn French as well. I'm not a fan of French, at least not the way I learnt it. I very much love English though, writing is like crafting a clearly definable image that can do anything, it's great.

Chinese - Mandarin. I was studying it before and loved it. Everything about it - especially how easy it came to me. I'd love to learn Cantonese and possibly the rest of the dialects and sub languages that Chinese offers overall, but before I would, I would finish studying Mandarin. Afterwards, I would go with Japanese. Though, honestly, its probably the most complicated language I've ever seen. There are so many different, but essential subsets that you need to learn to speak and write it properly that its ridiculous (in my opinion). It wouldn't stop me from learning it, tho'.

I like Polish because if you look at how a word is spelled it doesn't look anything like how you actually say it.
