No Mario has been with Nintendo since their first game Donkey Kong. He's too classic to throw awayBesides what other character can take Mario's place?

Retire Mario? Heck no. He may not be the plumber I call to fix my leaky faucet, but he's the only one I know who can get rid of the giant, princess-kidnapping turtle in my backyard. NEway, Mario games are still fun and plenty of people love him. They just need to make sure Luigi doesn't star in anymore games.

Mario is probatly the best caracter nintendo ever made.... to stop making mario is like killing nintendo... (but if they press too much juice out of him i would say it was better to kill him)

I don't think that mario will ever die mainly because hes rather iconic to nintendo and because he bridges the generation gap of all ages. Do I wish they would stop makng the games? The answer is yes because I think that making the same old platformer over and over again is like trying to repackage cookie dough ice cream with a different color and claiming that the flavor is brand new and exciting. I think nintendo also uses maio to demostrate colse power considering the fact that mario has been on all consoles and the juxtapose of all of the games returns a startling amount of difference

Too classic. That would be like making Lizard man to try and replace Donkey Kong.Lizard man would be cool, but.... Donkey Kong goes back way too far.

Might actually be time to retire him. I mean how many times can one fat plumber beat up a dinosaur?

It's true, Mario's better days are behind him. I think they should drop him and focus on Link.

I don't think so. Mario has come a long way, and it's a face that everyone recognizes. I mean how would you feel if Apple hadn't had the apple anymore? It's just like that, Mario = Nintendo, and vice versa.

Nah, Mario should never die. It wouldn't be a nintendo game without Mario no? Besides, just the new one that came out got really high ratings. So, Mario ain't gonna die yet.

Heck no! People still buy the Mario games in huge numbers. (They're about the only DS games I still buy legit....shhhh. You didn't hear that.) That would hit Nintendo like a punch in the gut to do away with Mario. They've kept the business afloat this long with him, he's not going anywhere for a long time, I'm sure.

I think that the use of mario has turned into an overuse. Perhaps it is time to change to something else for a fresh start. Maybe put mario as a cameo..or a mentor or something? haha.

Mario will last long, very long. As long as Nintendo is up, Mario is up. And i'll say, Nintendo is going stronger than any company, what with the truly succcessful Wii. Mario is a character u can do anything with, as Nintendo has shown us. Sport, Plaforming, the FACE of Nintendo literally.

Mario Can't Die! Sure Mario has been around for a long time, but he's all Nintendo has nowadays. Nintendo can't compete with everyone else if they stop Mario. :awesome: Viva LA MARIO
