No I don't think so. Too many people like Mario for nintendo to retire him. They'll probally keep mario for another 20 years.

Mario is getting to old now... I used to enjoy the games, but now they just seem so pointless. It is most definatly time for nintendo to focus on something new, for once! Many cooks spoil the brof... Many games on one thing, spoils the game series. It's so rare that a new mario game is any good at all.... You cant remake a classic! Try remaking a classic and you usually ruin it!

Maybe, if they would make some new ideas. As long as the games are fun....

thats kinda like Sega would stop making Sonic games. Wheres certain people who have played these games ever since they were kids and now that theres so many games, and they still sell its a bit obvious that theyre gona keep on making them. Think of the proud parents that can say to there Mario playing kids "I used to play the first ever Mario game years ago before you were born" Theres certain memories to it and this is why Mario games should still be made. Nowadays its more of a game your whole family can play ^^

F*** NO! If you take away Mario, you veritably kill Nintendo. All they'd have would be pokemon...

Nah. Nintendo should keep him. He's still going strong, especially with his newest few games.

it is defintely time to stop making mario games. It was great as it was, but there is not much to do with it. Today's technology is totally different and Mario is just a dead end.

:( NEVER STOP MARIO...if they do anything they should stop cramming Mario and Sonic into the same game...they were never meant to meet and should never be aloud to be in another game together again(except for the smash bros games of course.)

Nintendo stopping Mario would not be the best idea on earth. That is, they are still making money off of the franchise. Secondly the ONLY way Mario stops, is if Nintendo stops making consoles for televisions and handhelds.

fixedI think personally they should retire Mario, not immediately, but gradually, to prevent the whole sonic the hedgehog feel that has been around since sonic 3d. Introduce some new characters and focus the game on them instead of Mario then slowly and gracefully retire him. make him the king of the mushroom kingdom since he has solely been the reason the kingdom is still around.

i would say that the last few mario games are the best mario games of the past decade. mario galaxy 1 and 2, as well as new super mario bros.

Ninitendo likely won't be getting rid of mario, but if they did they would probably go with Link, i wouldn't mind seeing more of Link's games, I would certainly rather look at a green guy with a sword than a 30 year old mascot!

No way! Mario must stay with us till the world ends. I mean, some newer games are mere shadows of Mario and he's a huge figure in the gaming industry so what is gaming industry without him? .... More or less nothing.

You can't kill mario! But they need new ideas and new games that have a different plot and purpose.
