I like Symphonic Metal and Progressive Metal (my fav' bands for it are Dream Theater and Angra), but i'm actually listening to game OST's and Visual/J-rock: i have Final Fantasy III OST and a mix of Visual in my Ipod at the moment...: Rentrer en Soi and BLOOD.

I enjoy numetal and alternative stuff mostly( im a big primus fan, Les Claypool frickin rules) but i like other music too. Im more of a guy that likes certain songs, not genres. If its good i dont care what its label is.

Progressive metal/ Progressive rock > all.everything melodic, symphonic and technical rock/metal is a sure winner. For my favourite bands, click my last.fm link below XP (charts can be a bit misleading though)

I prefer metal (stuff like GWAR and Iron Madien) but I do listen to lighter stuff like Marilyn Manson all the time. It really just depends on my mood.

I'm sure this has been mentioned before in these 61 pages that I don't want to read and that are probably mostly filled with frothing at the mouth idiots who don't know any better with posts that don't even make complete sentences... but why are Hip Hop and R&B classified as the same thing here? Honestly, you prejudiced idiots aren't bright enough to tell the difference between genres so you don't deserve to be proper judges of music. I'm tired of having to argue against this type of musical ignorance time and time again. GET IT THROUGH YOUR THICK SKULLS! HIP HOP IS NOT R&B! AND RAP DOESN'T AUTOMATICALLY SUCK! I enjoy a very wide variety of music. For the most part Alternative Rock would have to be my favorite but I also love Dance, House, Trance, Techno, Drum & Bass, Happy Hardcore, and Trip-Hop among many others. And the genres I can't stand at all would have to be Country, Rap, and Hip-Hop.
