i think 1 had the best story line, 3 had the best gameplay and moves...and i didnt like 2 much coz u werent snake for much of the game, mainly a blonde idiot called raiden

MGS3 is the best one IMO. I love how the camoflauge stuff works and it's fun to download others too.

Even though MGS1 had a better story, 3 is the better all-around game. The whole camoflague system made u take your time and plan every move 3 or 4 steps in advance. And having to catch and find animals for food.....genius. Cant wait for 4!

OK we got MGS1 Forget the bad graphics. for it's time it had what was considered good graphics. It had so many different things to unlock like meryl had different costumes if you wnet out then back into the air ducts. Then there were multiple endings too. which earned it a rank in the games that could defeat the titans.Next MGS2 Ok amazing graphics aside it didn't stray too far from the same amazing reply-ability and unlockables in all 3. It introduced us to much more. New weapons, aiming in first person, and a twisting story line.And Finally MGS3. Wonderful graphics as always. It had a ton of interesting things to unlock. You had so many things to unlock the monkey mask, EZ gun, Multiple Camofauges, and many more. Plus it had references to the other games.In conclusion I wouldn't be able to choose inbetween them but i prefer the 2nd or 3rd. Although I said that due to the times MGS1 may not be a strangers fav FOR IT"S TIME it was a good game but not now.So in conclusion............conclusion.......I choose MGS4

Metal Gear Solid: Ghost Babel (On Gameboy Color) was my favorite MGS by far. (I've played 1 and 2, not 3)I don't play action games for story, and the action is wayyyy too frequently interrupted by incredibly long cut-scenes. But on GBC, its incredible.

I'd have thought you could only say MSG2 or 3, what with this being the PS2 section x_xAnyway, I say the second one.

Part one was the shortest, it was alright, but I like part 3 the best because it tells you a lot of background story before part one and it is very dramatic, movie material.

This may just be the nostalgia talking but there's just something about mgs1 that separates it from the other two. Everything, from the storyline to character development to the setting really made the game enjoyable. I did like the way that Big Boss was vindicated in the third installment, but it still doesn't compare.

MGS for psx was good. it lost it's coolness a little on game cube, but it was still fun. MGS2...wow, raiden...just ugh. MGS3 was amazing, and I can't wait for subsistence so I can battle online, not to mention MGS# made fun of raiden at every turn almost haha. I like the story in it, but I wish they would of started the story with this game in a way, because really, it's like they pretty much made it off of the hype from the first set of games. I think in terms of it all, I actually like MG 2 for NES the best, but eh. MGS3 is my favorite to play.

well think about it, if its a tactical espoinage mission game, right, then where exactly is the espoinage in MGS3?????? HELLO!!! if anything, its being liek a suicide bomber, without the bomb, what crazy fool would enter a military base, armed with poo all explosives, and nothing that propels rockets.and that shagohad, trying to blow it up, and barely knocking a dent in it, utter complete CRAP!!!my vote's with all of em actually, i just thought i'd bag out on something they did wrong
