My friend told me Earthbound is the best game he ever played. Personally, I think it is dumb.

All I have to say is Earthbound was a great game, weird at times (Moon Side comes to mind). The only thing I didn't like was it took me like, 2 hours to get Poo's Sword of the King's from all those Super Starmen, and it took me 20 seconds to get Paula's Frying Pan. Those stupid 1/187(?) made me sad sometimes, but that's why you can eat rock candy with deli sauce and stuff.

First i have 4 words to say. New Age Retro Hippie. Second....Target-Pracice "but that's why you can eat rock candy with deli sauce and stuff"I belive if you have 1 rock candy in your inventory..and like craploads of sugar packets....go in to a fight (an easy one) and eat the rock candy...It SHOULD say whomever added a packet of sugar to it. Instead of the rock candy being used up the sugar packet will. So you can lather rinse repeat as needed. Just make sure you dont eat the rock candy when you have no sugar packets

They were making a sequel, on N64 but it got cancelled. Would of been a great project though. Also anyone else play the original Mother on nes? Or own the actual cartidge in SNES.

I pre-ordered this back when it came out.. I remember the scratch and sniff ad campaign.I played through this game a thousand times. One of my favorites. I dreamed about that N64 sequel that never was (so... so sad). But hey, now we're going to get a GBA sequel! Can't wait.and yes, it is a true sequel. In Japan they've already released the Mother/Mother2 pack (you can download it at this site).but a full-fledged sequel is on the way.

I still play earthbound (on my portable HD) in class at school after I've finished my labs. Still one of my favorite games of all time, especially since I didn't get to play SNES as a kid (I had a genesis). Playing it in my late teens allowed me to appreciate it so much more, that i decided to download the ROM and play it while I was bored at school. B)

Earthbound is definitely in my top five RPGs of all time. Such a unique experience, taking the tradtional RPG setting and modernizing it and adding in a sense of humor. It's just a great game all around.Definitely really excited for Mother 3 to come out. It's a game that I've been waiting for ever since they announced that it was in development way back on the N64. Hopefully it'll prove to be worth the wait.

It's strange they didn't make more of an effort to make a sequel. The game even ended with a cliff hanger.

Which Earthbound? For the NES (Mother) or SNES (Mother 2)? Well I equally enjoy both (very much) and would appreciate to see a sequel being released for the Cube, even though I have no plans at all of buying one. :whistle2: Well Mother 3 for the N64 was so hyped... unfortunally never happened.

Once I left Fourside the game stopped being interesting. I think it's a great game up to that but it loses its focus after that.

you'd think nintendo could at least take make the effort to translate mother 1 to english for the gameboy, but they can't be bothered...it's kind of sad.
