Definitely one of the best games ever, but I am disappointed that Nintendo scrapped the sequel planned for the N64. A portable sequel (GBA or DS) would be a great idea.

I loved the idea of a rpg in the real world, in the present. That was refreshing air. 90% of the time it's about medieval/fantasy themes. Gets boring over the time.

Earthbound rocks in its own way, and it's pretty unique. However, the way you beat the last boss was pretty fricken weird...I did not expect to Pray at all, but did it when I was getting a bit low on health and i was out of items and PP already. Pretty weird.

Its a great game, although it lacks dialouge between the chars and the humor is strange, but thats what makes Earthbound great. Its not those clichéd midevil(I know I slaughtered the spelling a bit)games, and it would've been fun if there was more sidequests. It is an easy game but I like to play it every now and then.

Oh man i loved earthbound... but to be honest when I first played it I totally hated it, cause i got so bored (might have been confused) in the beginning, but the story gets so good.

I loved it because it was so different from normal rpgs, and I've replayed it several times to date.

I just hope that Mother 3 actually makes it to the US. Nintendo KNOWS, thanks to starmen.net, how many fans the series has now.It would be a shame if the sequel didn't make it over here.

Ahhh, one of my favorite games for the SNES, & favorite RPGs of all times. And Ness is my number one SSBM char. X3 I wish they'd release a compliation of the two Mother games, & the new one not out yet on the GBA over here.

I heard this game was made as a joke as the 'epitome' of rpgs or something, and it turned out to rock. this, super mario rpg, and harvest moon all made me play SNES til my fingers bled.

It's actually supposed to be a beginner's RPG, since it's pretty simple. Still, one of my favorites.

I think that the battle system was just a little too cheesy for me. I suppose this is one of the things that fans 'love' about the game. Its system is rather quirky and abnormal, but then so is its fanbase. lol.
