Earthbound is the best RPG I have ever played. Though that's not saying much, being that I've played something along the lines of five RPGs. Still, absolute gaming gold.

Really, really, really awesome. The originality, the humor ("Don't stand there. I just farted there.), and the creepiness at the end really made the game a must-have for all SNES owners. Too bad it's so rare and expensive nowadays.

My favorite part was Magicant...so weird...I actually wrote a song that contained a reference to the Flying Men! ;-) I also loved that you could sniff out truffles by putting on a pig's nose. And the final battle was downright FREAKY! The first time I reached it, it was maybe 2 in the morning, all the lights were out around me, and I was dead tired but still playing cause I wanted to beat the darn game. Then all of a sudden Giygas starts--gulp!--moaning my name! My REAL NAME! I had completely forgotten that the game asked for it at the beginning, and I literally got freaked out, pulse pounding and all that. I am never, EVER entering my full real name in a video game, ever again!

That game was cool simply because the enemies were really bizzar. Lamps, chairs, broomsticks. I've never seen that in an RPG other than Dungeons and Dragons.

A lot of you have mentioned the inspired gameplay and unusual characters-/enemies, but many of you seem to have failed to notice maybe the best part of the game; The music for that game was just so cool!Haha! In fact, sometimes when i'm listening to some experimental music, jazz or rock or something, i have been known to say; "Hey! That riff there! That's really Earthbound-esque!"I've said it more than once too, to mixed reactions!

Earthbound was unique, and in that way, completely awesome.I mean, a kid with PSI abilities, as well as a clubbin' baseball bat beat up a time-traveling spirit. That's why Earthbound needs a sequel.Besides, no other game has New Age Retro Hippies scaring kids with Toothbrushes.

It really makes me sad that Nintendo wont release #1 and #3 in the US. It is one of my favorite RPGs of all time. :)

I hear that man. I was really pumped when Ness was in Super Smash Bros, but oddly enough it only added to my frustration that Nintendo isn't releasing the old/new ones. They teased us a while back with a N64 release, then a Gamecube release, it all came to naught though.

Earthbound is one of my favorite games of all time. It has a great battle system, it's challenging, and it's hilarious! A hippie cult that worships the color blue...grumpy old men, whose main attack is "complain about today's youth"...and a dog that is possessed by the game's creator. You gotta love it.

I love earthbound because it was such a new experience for me when I first played it. I like how the creator's threw random things at you while playing

yeah, theres is a sequel though it wasnt released here. Oh well guess we have to depend on Mother 3.org , Earthbound will also be one of my favourite RPG'S then any other no matter what.Cant wait to play that sequel. Im a huge fan and Earthbound for snes cant hold me back, I want more. B)There had to be a sequel anyways because at the end of Earthbound the pounding begins and you open the door and Pickey sends a letter over from Pokey and it says "come find me, if you can..." this left us with hope that there dhould be Mother 3. :P

After replaying this game a couple of times, you start to realize that it has some hidden things in (I mean like things that are hard to notice). An example would be this giygas pattern picture I saw over at the starmen site:Posted ImageNotice how the negative area kinda looks like a baby's head?

The farthest I ever got was past the boss that was a giant puddle of puke. I kept thinking I was at least a third or so through the game but then it gives me a screen with a message that basically says 'your adventure is just beginning'. I never knew just how huge this game is. Anyway, someday I'll have to complete it. I also want to play Mother 3 as well, though I'll probably have to wait for those fan-translators to finish their translation first.
