I'm all for the competition that AMD brings to the market, but as far as performance, Intel has been leading the way ever since they released their C2D's.

you're either for amd or for intel. you gotta find what you like best. it also depends on what you're trying to do. for gaming, go with AMD. for programs like CAD, go with intel.

I think Intel..expecially now that they have a Quadcore :lmao:

its funny about thisAMD has had quad-core processors out for the longest time, for the same price, or a little cheaper than intel, everyone says taht intels are better since the quad...but intel is just more well known to the public and understands advertising better than amdpersonally? ive run on both amd and intel, and i cant tell much of a difference. they run similar, and they both get the job done, but overall? AMD usually comes out the better deal

AMD for me. The only problem with the AMD chips is that they heat up quite fast with the socket. You COULD get a better fan but comparing the processors, AMD runs better. AMD is also cheaper and the reason many people support AMD is because (like what angelofdeath said), Intels are better known to the public and is supposedly more trusted

They are both good. The only thing in Intel (especially dual core) you need to update the windows because certain games found incompatible with dual core. Updating windows means needs genuinity.

According to speed runs and what not, AMD gets whipped by Intel's Quads.

When using a computer, I can't tell a difference between AMD or Intel processors, it all matters on the software you plan to run on it, and most of it is compatible with both, so in most cases, it dosen't matter what processor you useBut if I had to choose what processor I would use, I always go with AMD, AMD tends to come out with newer technology before Intel, for example, when the first 64bit processor came out, it was the AMD Athlon 64 (happens to be the processor in my gaming computer), also, AMD has the 3Dnow! thing, and AMD stands for Advanced Micro Devices, Advanced meaning, well, Advanced, ahead of it's time, so I think AMD is betterBut I do use my share of computers that use Intel processors, and they work fine, the worst processor is Cyrix

according to me Intel rocks and is more reliable than amd ..... but I think that both are equal in their efficiency ../.

Depends on what you want to use the computer for. If you are going for gaming, then the best choice would be amd. but if you are looking for a server or a normal computer, than intel is the better choice

I would choose AMD.. Currently using AMD Phenom and I'm fully satisfied with the performance especially when i'm rendering my 3d modelling compared with the Intel Xeon Quad Core pc that i triedi dun have any experience on server processor.. maybe intel did beat amd on server processor? any opinion?

from what i've heard AMD processors have better energy managment and are cheaper. I have a athalon 64 x2 +4200 that runs pretty smoothly. but if you want more power the newer intel processors with the new 45nm core technology are better

Intel beats AMD right now on the performance/price charts. Although if you go to the really low end AMD is winning out because they have the cheapest dual core processors around.3d modelling can have lots of dependent factors though, HDD speed, ram speed.

A. When RMD receives your obsolete equipment it is sorted to determine the proper processing. Equipment that is too outdated to be of any use is de-manufactured and the components reused or recycled. Computers that may be used by charities or schools proceed to our Training/Refurbishing facility where they are used to give hands on experience to technical students. Non-working monitors are sent to our Monitor/CRT processing facility. They are then repaired and refurbished. Monitors that are not repairable are de-manufactured and reduced to recyclable materials. Here is our process flow chartIt’s been just 5 months since we released our first report card on the world’s leading electronic companies, grading their use of toxic chemicals in popular products like computers and cell phones. Already, many of the companies are in a race to reach the head of the class - that is, except for Apple, who seems determined to remain behind rather than be the teacher’s pet we’d hoped for. Instead, companies like Acer and Lenovo have leap-frogged the competition, becoming the latest top computer makers to commit to stop using the worst toxic chemicals in their products. Along with Motorola, these companies are the biggest movers in the latest version of our Guide to Greener Electronics.POINTS were deducted for this post by GBATESTPlease refer to the forum rules to find out why your points were deducted.

Intel is currently just out performing AMD at a very surprisingly large gap. AMD's are cheaper but if you want to go for top of the line and don't care for a budget, Intel's QuadCore processor is totally legit, unlike AMD'S 2 dual cores integrated together.

It looks like the war just got more interesting.http://www.pcworld.c...rets_theft.htmlIndustrial espionage is hardly a new thing but between two giants like AMD and Intel?Even if AMD really did have no idea this was going on it still looks REALLY bad.
