the dongle doesn't work with mac os?

Not yet. The hardware should work just fine but they haven't released any drivers for it or the software to go with it. I don't know that they plan to either. They haven't said one way or the other. Besides, if someone is will to spend all the extra cash for the pretty colors and molded plastic on a mac they should be more than willing to drop the cash on a decent wireless router. >.<

Again, not yet but with linux it's just a matter of time if someone is interested regardless of rather or not official drivers are ever released. As for the software with any luck someone can get it working with wine.

a friend code doesn't include letters. Only digits. They look like this : 123456-123456

Theres a picto chat Mario Kart DS game when ever you connect. Picto chat by itself isn't wi-fi compatible.

Try to take down your firewall or change the option on the wireless router. I recommened for you epoepl who are going to buy a wireless router enstead of the dongle should think about it. The wirless router cost more than the dongle, unless you want the wireless router for other stuff then be my guest.

DarkMoNsTeR1What model router do you have? did you check to make sure that 802.11b is enabled instead of having the router locked to 802.11g? Does the laptop use WPA encryption to communicate with the router?

im using a pretty old dell truemobile 1184 with the usb wireless thing it came with...i checked the settings and WPA encryption is disabled...i got no idea how to check if its locked to 802.11gEdit: the model number is WX-6215Dand from a little reading, i think my router is 802.11b

Indeed that is pretty old. In fact Dell offers virtually no information about it. It isn't even in the support list as having ever existed! The only truemobile APs they list are 1700, 2300, 2350, and 4350. I'm thinking it may not stictly adhere to the guidelines for 802.11 (b or otherwise). The only refrence on the entirety of Dells site is a regulatory approval document saying it wouldn't cause interferance. That's it.Does your laptop have built in wireless or do you have to use the USB 802.11b dongle to connect? If you have any other way of adding Wi-Fi to the laptop you may wish to consider doing so and getting a new router. It would be more money than the dongle but in the long run the router is the better deal since it works with stuff other than the DS. For those that have forgotten Revolution has built in Wi-Fi, Xbox 360 has a Wi-Fi add on, the PSP uses Wi-Fi, and the PS3 is supposed to make use of Wi-Fi as well. Not to mention the fact that most laptops have built in Wi-Fi now. As do certain PDAs, phones, etc...If you plan to use anything else with the wireless EVER get a new router. I recomend a Linksys WRT54G. They are very hackable :) If all you are interested in is the DS then the dongle is the cheaper and simpler route.

Can't see why not :D. It works with my m3 though. And don't use wifi with dial-up. You could, but it'll cost you more than broadband.
