Eh, don't really like most RPG stories because they are so predictable. FF 7 was pretty nice. At least what I've read on online boards, I didn't understand half of it while playing because of the HORRIBLE, GODAWFUL translation. I guess, Live-A-Life was pretty cool. Sure, every single story was rather mediocre but overall I liked it with it's obscurity.

My favorite RPG is the Shining Series. :D It offers complex story lines without the complex combination commands. :D

"A boy has the right to dream. There are endless possibilities stretched out before him. What awaits him down the path, he will then have to choose. The boy doesn't always know. At some point, the boy then becomes an adult, and learns what he was able to become. Joy and sadness forever will accompany this. He is confronted with a choice. When this happens, does he bid his past farewell in his heart? Once a boy becomes an adult, he can no longer go back to being a boy. The boy is now a man. Only one thing can be said. A boy has the right to dream. For those endless possibilities are stretched out before him. We must remember. All men were once boys."

Nothing can beat the storyline of the Fanal Fantasy Series. If I had to say which I liked best, it'll probably VIII. Although I liked VII a lot recently because of Advent Children.

I'll say Terranigma just because it's so unique. I think Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross both had pretty good storylines too.

Wait a second... Woe woe woe... No Legend Of Zelda? What the devil... Windwakers had a pretty rad (Sorry, comes from the people I'm talking to on MSN) Story line, how it linked up and everything. And Orcirina (Stupid spelling) Of time was pretty killer, especially for it's time! Oh, and Final Fantasy 3/6, 8, and I didn't play all of X, but it seemed cool up untill that point...

Uhm first off: Woe means sadness, or misery. Woah, means to wait, or hold up. Second, LEgend of Zelda is, as far as I am concerned, an action-game platform. An RPG to me, means something where you take control of charicters in an entertaining story. LoZ is mostly solving mind-numbing puzzles and fighting wierd bosses with idiotic patterns you have to hit them with some wierd weapon then go in and go into a slashing frenzy. That's not really an RPG in my mind. Now then, best RPG story? From what I have experienced, and best story, not best RPG game, it would be either a toss-up between Star Ocean, Final Fantasy 4, and Chrono Trigger. I must admit though, Final Fantasy 6 comes in close, but ff4 plays with your emoitions a bit more. For some reason, in FF6, when the world of balance collapsed, I just knew I could go around and collect all my charicters back. FF4 did'nt give you much, if any indication that you would get any of your lost charicters back. Of course, on the other hand, FF4's storyline was a bit more "Your enemy is plotting this. Go stop his plot, kill him, and save the world." Where FF6 kept you guessing what was going to happen next in some situations.I thought for a mere moment about listing Pokemon for something, however, then THIS came to mind:*Scene is the hero trainer walking through the city, talking to absolutely random people.*Person: "I'm an idiot loon with an unhealthy obsession with saying 'I like my pokemon!' "Me: "Uh, what the hell have you been smoking?"Person: "I'm not on drugs, this is my normal self!"Me: "Oh...dear...god..."And then comes the fact that the entire game is chock-full of complete morons like this, and not just one or two people. Note how no one, not ever, in real life, EVER acted anything like this, even when the Pokemon fad was in full swing.

Suikoden 1 and 2, Legend Of Legaia, and FF4 are the games that I think had the best storylines to date (for an rpg that is). Some honorable mentions would have to be Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG, FF 6 and 7. They had decent stories each of them but nothing that compares to the stories of the games first mentioned in this post.Later...

I doubt that any of you actually played Killer 7, and if you did you prolly didn't play it for very long. It had a great story after the first few missions and the ending was definately a shocker. I couldn't believe how indepth it was.

I need to play Valkyrie Profile and Final Fantasy Tactics.. Heard so much about them. I didn't finish Xenogears, but it was great. Especially the storyline part. Some people didn't like the game in general because of how the XenoSaga series just tend to have so much cut scenes that's long as heck or something. I have yet to play them, but.. yeah.Final Fantasy sure is nice, but there are the times when some parts of the game just becomes so obvious.. A few shocker here and there.. then the obvious. Then again, probably better than Dragon Quest VIII, since a lot of the parts of the game, you see what's coming.. @_@
