I'd have such a hard time picking just one. I'll give it a go though.Right away what comes to mind is what game could I be stuck with on a deserted island and live out the rest of my years playing while zombies reaked havoc on the mainlands. In that case, Final Fantasy IV and Final Fantasy Tactics come to mind. (I know... Final Fantasy gets lots of props, but it deserves most, if not all, of them. Squaresoft/SquareEnix is pretty brilliant and always seems to be 'state-of-the-art' when they release their latest stuff on the current gen platforms.)Hmmm. Now I guess that I'd have to say that I like Final Fantasy IV's theme of light and dark and/or polar opposites. The light crystals. The dark crystals. The overworld. The underworld. The Earth. The moon. The Dark Knight. The Paladin. The strong willed hero. The weak sidekick. The plain-haired healer. The green-haired witch. The calm & polite little girl. The rude and brash little boy. I could go on and on.As far as story goes, Final Fantasy IV gets my vote for personal favorite story.*Note that I know there are better stories with more character developement and all that jazz. I'm just saying it's my favorite RPG story.

Noooooo how could i miss skies of arcadia.Playstation: FF7Gamecube: Skies of Arcadia LegendsFire emblems are great, ff8 and 9 are phenominal too. Warcraft has some great storylines along with diablo too.

Xenogears is probably the best rpg story-wise, if not ff tactics.

legend of legilia (dunno how to spell) defintly best story line and took me ages to complete definitly better then FF during its time

Actually i always liked the story in ths game... SECRET OF MANA and SECRET OF EVERMORE .. i liked those old RPG (Stories) games from SNESohh and Yes Final Fantasy 7 and any Zelda Game Duhhh

Omg... All of u talk only about FF... and few known RPG... I thing that best story is a Fallout2 for pc...And for a GBA... cant tell which is the best its all similar...

I would say final fantasy 7 like most of the people here, but I hafta say I liked Chrono Trigger the best. I play it at least once a year.

I'd say final fantasy X. Such a nice ending only to be ruined by its sequel. They should have left it as it was.

I hear Planescape:Torment has the best story in any RPG ever.I'm currently playing Mass Effect and enjoying it.FF7 is overrated, IMO.

definitely vandal hearts 2. Very political story, not for the faint of heart and definitely not for those who are out to just game, magnificent dialog and incredible story. vandal hearts 2 hands down

most people will say final fantasy 7 and i do agree but Crono Trigger And Crono Cross also had cool story lines, I think anything to do with time travel is awsome
