Mmm.... Final Fantasy 7 is the one with the best story IMO. Suikoden is close second.

The Final Fantasy series is the best rpg series hands down but I don't know about an idividual game.

Best RPG stories of all time were the Shenmue series. This game combined action into the game that was only possible to be done with the help of SEGA.

Disgeia. Its main story was rather cliche but the points along the road were unforgettable

Final Fantasy 7 has my favorite story in an RPG; FF8 had a great story, too, because it had a lot of character development.

Is Metal Gear really considered an RPG? I thought stealth was a genre to it's own.I'm gonna go with Chrono Trigger for first place.Second place goes to Final Fantasy IV.Third place goes to....I'm gonna say kingdom hearts.i think metal gear is da best!!!!!!!!!!!!

Final Fantasy VII hands down.Why? Eons of years after its release, FFVII's story is still being talked about by everyone. Analyzed to death by rabid fans. And it has spawned several game offshoots and movies just so fans can get their FFVII fix.

FF7's Story Line sucked, don't know why people think it is the best, sigh, fanboys/girls.(omgsephcloudetc<3333 /sarcasm)My opinion best one has to be Kingdom Hearts, I know, hypocrisy on my part about the whole FF7 thing, but just one of the best story lines I've had the pleasure of playing.

Oblivion. In addition to the main story you get alot of extra side quests. The world is so open so you can basically make your own story up as you go along.

the storyline? it's obvious VII, if you look back, everybody knows it, loads of people plays it, because the storyline is the best, it leaves you thinking.
