Pokemon rules. I started playing pokemon before i heard about digimon- though i dont know much about digimon, pokemon seems to have more of a structure- certain number of pokemon per pokedex, whereas digimon seems to have none of that.

Dig Dig Dig, Digimon! The best of the best! Digimon is better to me because it has more compelling storylines, faster evolutions, and doesn't repeat the same storyline from season to season (gym battles).

It`s kinda funny to see that still there`s the confilict between who was first. Actually I feel like puzzled about it, but what I don`t like of some posts is when a person says that Pokemon is a copy of digimon and vicecversa, although like in another posts I still go for Digimon. Another thing that is interesting is the parallel relation between the Digital World and the Earth and that`s what makes Digimon better. Plus I like that the story ocured(?) near this time (Adventure: 1999, Digimon 02: 2002). And the series shows true values that represent every character on the story (Hope, Courage, Friendship, etc.)So long Life to Digimon!

To answer redG7B: Digimon is coming in stronger with a new series called DIGIMON DIGISAVERS. A new hero (Long red haired punk who is much like a delinguent than any of the past main heros of digimon) and the return of agammon. This series has a cool Digivolution since the new hero has to punch.... that's right, punch the enemy digimon hard enough to acquire the digisoul to make agammon digivolve into... ah ah, not spoiling not telling n_n.Oh, and digimon is better than pokemon because of what a lot of you guys have already mentioned. Pokemon may be king of the video game empire and that's because it was based on a video game for the gameboy and is not fit to become anime because of it's story that targets only young anime goers.

Pikachu must die. Pokemon's intended audience is younger kids. Notice the lack of death?Digimon has better storylines, and although they all end up to something like "OMG SAVE THE DIGITAL AND REAL WORLD AGAIN ROFL", it's better than "OMG MUST GET EVEN MORE BADGES"

I love the Pokemon franchise better, but the plots for Digimon tend to be better.Overall though, I'd say Pokemon.It's kind of hard, because I look at them differently. I don't feel they're the same type of show, despite similar themes and ideas.
