A word on the 150 original pokemon limit. In the first season, Professor Oak professed that there were only 150 pokemon, and that those were all the ones that ever could or would be. In the second season, the limit was raised to 250. Here's my question: How did all of those guys miss 100 POKEMON!?!?!?!? That's a lot of Pokemon to miss. I used to watch the show, and I have nothing against it per se, but come on...100 pokemon? And then more were added? How do they still put faith in anything any of the professors have to say? They missed a lot of pokemon. I would've been pissed if I had caught all 150. "Hey, I got all 150!" "Ooh, sorry, there's actually 250. Yeah, turns out we missed a couple...hundred."

maybe mutation occurred :( causing entirely new spicies to come to existence

Oh yeah! I remember those games. That was a long time ago. But they were way better than the GBA pokemon games. Although Pokemon Colloseum was up to par with them. Oh, and for the person who said Digimon is over? It's not. They're actually starting a fifth season. And they always have a new protagonist in every season. Not like in Pokemon, where Ash is always trying to catch'em all and Gary always has way more than Ash, but somehow Ash always defeats Gary. How is it that Gary is always one step and 100 pokemon ahead of Ash? That's so stupid. Anyway, for the person who suggested mutation in Pokemon? Didn't happen. Whole new parts of the world were somehow "discovered" and the original 150 existed on those parts of the world along with the other new Pokemon. I still don't buy the whole "Oops, we sorta missed a couple 100 pokemon." Whereas in Digimon, the digimon can digivolve into different kinds of digimon, and then they can go back to their original forms for easier travel. How can a pokemon like Charizard fit into that tiny Pokeball? Digimon, in my opinion was much more realistic, considering that the monsters came from a digital world. Think of the third season. It started off as an online game, but somehow there were people (otherwise known as digidestined) who could use their digimon partners outside of the computer world. While that's not realistic, their reactions were. Anyone see the movie? Great animation. The battle between Omnimon and that virus? Everyone around the world was watching it. And what's more is none of them knew that it was an actual battle. They just figured it was a video, or a game. Not everyone knew about Digimon and the fact that they were actually real, and taht's much more realistic than a world inhabited by animals that can say their name, and that's it. And somehow they can understand eachother. You would think that a Charizard could only speak Charizard and a Pikachu could only speak Pikachu, but somehow they understand eachother. And they can comprehend the English language, but they can't speak it. Just not realistic at all.

*hands raised* I suggested that <3, I am trying to fake an excuse for Pokemon and obviously didn't work...I still play the PS1 Digimon RPG every once in a while coz it's so great ya know(I recommend to all RPG lovers). I used to think it has the best graphics(until I met Metal Gear... but that's not the point ><). I like the interactive-ness of the game & the "tales of" series-style battles where u can sort of control whether you wanna fight or not (despite some compulsory ones) for ppl sometimes need to save the game in a hurry; There are many reasons, e.g. time for: school/commitments/dates most importantly... ... ... ... TIME FOR ANIME !!!Like tvmonkeys had said I also think Digimon seems smarter, coz at least they can communicate in human language :D (beat that Pokemons!)

Go Digimon I heard somthing once that said digimon was in the making befor pokemon and the reason it came out after pokemon is because they had to do more voice overs you know cause digimon talk un like pokemon, and Gerymon could kill Charzard no sweat.

Pokemon is better because the idea is better than digimon which kept on getting changed.

Pokemon destroys digimon on like every front EXCEPT the tv shows. But digimon games are universally know for being sub-par. Anyway i always thought of it as a cheap rip off and until they bring something that is really intuitive that pokemon hasnt thought of I will continue to think that.

Just to let you know its not really darker. Thats just a facade the makers put up to differentiate it from Pokemon.

pokemon for methe digimon anime always was too repetitive, they kept using the same action screens over and over, and i can't figure out why they always have to use their ONE move only instead of just kicking/punching the other digimon
