That's what I had been on about for these times about those comments but I m sorta ignored. Well I suppose if more of people like you joining the discussion would hopefully be able to decrease these sorts of meaningless posts by diffusion(look up a biology dictionary if you wanna know what it meansTo leaderofrouge: yes, MTG is a great card game (I actually have a MTG card creating competition going on. Click the link), and I actually do know how to play the digimon card game...both versions.Lucio24: I'm also a huge Digimon fan, and I'm almost 19. And if you want to learn how to play...just ask.I would also like to say to those who are spamming, i.e. "Digimon is better" or "Pokemon by FAR!"...save it. Your opinion is worth nothing. If your going to make an argument, then try elaborating on your opinion and making educated posts. Otherwise, it doesn't matter.
Don't make that comment unless you have played the Digimon RPG on PS1. As far as I know, Pokemon might have ruled out the GB era, but surely I won't agree to your comment about "most consoles"I agree, Pokemon games were a better play on most consoles...

I don't know how you came up with the idea that Pokemon is more popular, just within this discussion I can't see a the population leaning towards Pokemon. In where I live it's pretty much equally weighted though it's only by observation but when I travel on public transports/wandering on streets the popularity seemed to be even to me. Even amongst my "Pokemon-goers" friends, they sometimes finds bits and pieces in Digimon that's better than Pokemon and they would go "Ah! if only Pokemon had *such and such* like Digimon it would make the show much better..." etc. So I don't really like your assumption that Pokemon is better.well pokemon has always been more popular, and still is. digimon was my fav before, but then it just suddenly died or something. so i'll go with pokemon.

Digimon IMO is far better in terms of Anime, and in games. For Pokemon:The games itself never stop getting redundant and repetitive. Every single game it's the basic storyline. Your the hero who's on the way to become the pokemon master, along the way you have a rival and you have to take down the evil organization Team ____<--insert generic evil organization name, all while trying to do remedial task for anonymous important people, training your pokemon, and defeating the 8 gym leaders, going into the eventual battle against the ever-changing elite 4. Then you get to the post game which doesn't have a lot of stuff if you got the first versions of the gameSee that's mainstream pokemon game in a nutshell, and yes I have played all of them just purely out of habit now. Then we have games like Pokemon Mystery Dungeon where after the post game, gets as redundant as maple story. We also have games like Hey You Pikachu and Pokemon Channel that really dont have to do with anything other than being completly retard (come on people wtf is up with a game that has no actual point, no storyline, no plot, no actual minigames, and probably reduces your IQ about 20 points). Then we have the pinball games, which are actually fun, except for the when they made a sequal, which was total crap. Then we have the puzzle games, which i didn't think it was possible to make something new and something repetitive at the same time. Trozei seemed like just a complete ripoff of the original puzzle challenge, which i was a fan of. Then we have games like Pokemon Snap, which are actual jewels and are fun to play. I personally loved Snap, but unfortunately have no replay value. Then we have the stadium games, the first 2 were really good cause it was all about the pokemon battles. Then Colosseum games which again was total crap, the aspect of it was so boring and the music in the game made you fall asleep faster than a lecture about the history of airThe anime itself is total crap after the first actual arc. Have you noticed that all the new journeys are caused by some irrelevant plot device that doesn't make a reappearance until couple seasons after it has been released, like GS ball. I mean seriously WTF was up with that. Not only that the series becomes more "child friendly" through each passing season. This is an anime that needs to die, or at least pass the torch to the role of some other hero. I think Ash/Satoshi factor has been completely overused. For Digimon:The games itself are always different. Different style, different storyline, the only problem is that their fricken hard. Basically I rank this game number 5 on the list of most time spent on leveling up and training, where number 1 is Disgaea and number 4 is maple story. With the amount of training done, the eventual factor becomes where the game isn't worth playing and you lose out on a lot of good stories. This game will literally succeed over 100 hours of gameplay without even moving toward a halfway point to the actual story. Still yet there is no actual repetition, granted there are no minigames either. Each Digimon World game has a style that is almost completely different than the other, with one exception. Raising digimon is almost the exact same where its an RPG style of either turn based or action. However each story is different from Digimon World 1 where your called upon as a chosen hero, Digimon World 2 where you are training as a digimon tamer in the first world (fortunately this is the only point where redundancy appears) Digimon World 3 where like the tamers series the entire digital world and digimon is just a game and your just playing it, and Digimon World 4 which takes place in the X-Evolution movie, where you are playing as a digimon. The games story is different than the next, but the basic element in all RPGs is there, but all that is, is a consistency. As for the anime, the anime is a hell of a lot better than pokemon. The irony behind the game and the anime is that it is a lot like pokemon where the basic elements of both are almost identical. Like the 1st 2 digimon anime series, the game takes place in the same world, but only in a larger more further time scale. The anime itself has more character development and depth in it's story. There are no random plot devices in digimon, and everything is connected. The only exception for this was the frontier series which was total crap (hey they can't all be jewels). The frontier series was basically a mix between the Tamers series plot device mixed in with super sentai (or power rangers in america). This was obvious crap when the term "super sentai" appeared in text of my last sentence. Regardless the Tamers series was well worth watching. Watching more than Pokemon's Johto series anyway. The character development in each character is subtle, but at the same time easily recognized by the end of the series. I think the main reason why each series is better than pokemon is due to, and ironically, it's own repetition. The plot element for every digimon anime series has and probably will always be as a "coming of age" type of element. Every main characters in every digimon series ends up with leaving into some new level of maturity and it's for this reason why it's probably better than pokemon. Satoshi in the course of the pokemon series hasn't actually changed, though the his bond with his pokemon due get stronger, he himself doesn't actually change. In fact I think in the first series was the only time where we see some type of coming of age. Everytime he goes on a new adventure you get the feeling that you have forgot why he has left for this. The random plot devices ends up leaving a trail of amnesia on "why we came" and "what were we doing." Unlike the first series, every new series of pokemon gives you the feeling of "how old is Ash now" and when you compare the ash of the first episode of the Johto Journey or the Hoenn journey you get the feeling of deja vu where you think "Didn't we see this before?"The reason why I think digimon isn't a series where you should say "Why hasn't this series died yet" is because each plot of each series has different storylines. Digimon Savers the current series is pretty good. The are has obviously changed where it looks cleaner, there are no goggle heads ("THANK GOD") and best of all, no chibi like bodies and that the kids don't contrast completely different from the adults. Where as you compare it to pokemon and the only thing other than cleaner animation that has changed about the appearances of the characters are their clothes. The story again has changed, where the existance of digimon is known by the public in a sense, and that it's more like a police force. The main character Masaru is a new and completly contrast of the main character personality of the past series which were awkward little kids, to a loudmouth fighting obssessed "Man's Man" type of character, who settles things with his fist rather than his judgement and probably has the same intelligence as Goku from dragonball.Regardless Pokemon seems almost always the same, while digimon has at the least some level of contrast. That's why digimon is better.Hmmm...it's a hard choice when it comes to the anime'sDigimon has Kari and Sora and in addition to that it isn't always the same enemies. However: Pokemon has a lot of interesting side episodes that had usually a decent moral to it, but often it was the same moral over and over. Both movies where decent but pokemon had the better soundtrack.Plus the pokemon games are easily higher quality.I'd have to say pokemon

I see that way you are wanting to compare them in terms of context, but unfortunately you can't really do that. Think back, they consists of different purpose when they were first made anyway, "Gotta catch'em all!" is the idea for Pokemon and training your pokemons to challenge gym leaders and badges from them and the ultimate goal to become a Pokemon Master. It is more of a adventurous type (But the anime now sidetracked alot & don't even make sense...Digimon was kind of a rip off, the show, and franchise was based off of those little digital pets that Digimon startedout as (people who have played Digimon World...
), Even though both are interesting I like Pokemon the best, because it just seems to be more, ya know? In Pokemon you can get as many (pokemon) as you want, and which ever you want, but in Digimon, you only get one, and it's assigned to you, so your just sort of stuck with it. (Then in season four, the kids became the Digimon...so yeah...). I choose Pokemon.
