Some of you are really got me annoyed. I am getting sick of reading posts lie "Digimon/Pokemon owns..." or "pokemon beats digimon" or "Digimon/Pokemon sucks..."; Trancebam made it so clearly in English that they are pointless/meaningless/purposeless comments, they won't earn you a stance, you can't convince anyone and you wasted yourself time to put post it. Ultimately, when your ignorance began to annoy the admin party ,you get your points deducted like sanane2(sorry to use you but since you are the last post...) so why bother?!? Here is a great example of "how to post for Dummies" for all those of you like that to learn how to post properly.Enough of lectures... people like Trancebam/Flamelta/& others really got me wanted to watch digimon again!!!Okay, I'm getting seriously tired of people saying Digimon ripped off Pokemon. Class is in session, and I'm about to school you...Pokemon's premise, as previously stated, is much different than that of Digimon's. Pokemon starts off as Ash dreaming about being the pokemon master. He wants to catch'em all. But like an idiot, he wakes up too late to get his Pokemon. However, Prof. Oak makes an exception and gives him Pikachu. Ash has to earn Pikachu's trust and eventually tames it to friendship. Now, let's go to the beginning of Digimon. In order to go to the true beginning, I'd have to take the first part of the movie, but I'll start with the first season. A bunch of kids end up at the same summer camp and are thrown into an alternate dimension. There, they run into these talking monsters, and naturally are freaked out by them.Flash forward, middle of both seasons. Ash already has gotten the three starting pokemon now (charmander, bulbasaur, squirtle) and has travelling companions. What is he doing? Same thing he was trying to do in the first episode...become the Pokemon master and catch'em all. All of the Digidestined have gotten their Digimon to the Champion level by now. Tai wants to take them further, and tries to force Agumon to become an Ultimate level. Agumon ends up digivolving to Skullgreymon, an evil digimon. This scars Tai, and he promises never to do that again.Digimon wasn't a ripoff of Pokemon. Some of you seriously need to learn what a ripoff is. You really want to see a ripoff? Watch Bobo Bo Bobobo. Class dismissed.

That's right...And this is one of the reasons that some people use to say that one is the copy of the other one...Ps, does Pokemon stand for: Pocket Monsters? and Digimon stand for : Digital Monsters?

I'm not sure whether to thank you, or to hit you. I'll thank you. Actually, I was only referring to Skullgreymon in the series, not the games. And I would like to congratulate you on reading my post. Most people don't actually read posts that took time to write, or are actually worth reading. For those of you that actually read this, stop posting lousy little 3 word posts. As I've said before, no one cares about your opinion. It's not that I want to know THAT you like digimon/pokemon, it's that I want to know WHY you like digimon/pokemon. And you can't expect me to become suddenly interested in Pokemon just because you say "Pokemon's betterer..." The bad grammar is a little overexaggerated...but only a little. If you're going to post something, make it worth reading. There's a difference between forum posters and spammers. Want to see the difference? Whatever page this post ends up on, I guarantee, has both forum posters and spammers. If you see paragraphs in the post, that's a forum poster. If the post doesn't exceed one sentence, that's a spammer. If you don't believe me, then you're a spammer. If you didn't read this, then you're a spammer. If you did read this, then you could be either. It really all depends on how you post, and how you read other peoples' posts.Alright, now that I have that out of the way, I'm going to continue the argument. Keep in mind that an argument is a kind of discussion where there are two sides to be taken, i.e. the topic you're reading/posting in.Pokemon:Pros: Catchy music, bright colors, flashy scenes.Cons: No plot, little room for logical change, very childish.Digimon:Pros: Thought provoking, moral lessons, large room for changes, variety, ongoing plot, concrete character development, etc...Cons: Doesn't have as many fans as Pokemon...and season 4. Yes the entire fourth season. The animation was okay, but the idea was crap.Oh, and that whole catchy music, bright colors blahdy blah for Pokemon? That's the same technique they use for babies entertainment such as Teletubbies or Barney. It isn't thought provoking, it's just a bunch of pretty colors and sounds. I re-played the PS1 Digimon RPG today IT"S GOOOOOOD!!!! A bit contradicting to what trancebam had been going on about, I got myself a Skullgreymon and liked it (no offense, well when in games, of coz the more powerful the better...). BTW what's the missle on his back was called again? It's in Japanese so I cant understand it.

from wikipedia.org. Stop saying that they're copies of eachother. Also...The Digimon franchise has been criticized as being a clone of the more popular Pokémon title, as both properties are aimed at children and feature interaction between humans and imaginary monsters. Although their basic concepts are similar, their respective media thematically bear little in common. For example, Pokémon video games and anime are centered around the idea of friendly competition for Pokémon and Pokémon Trainers. Some Digimon video games also center on sportsmanship, but in the anime Digimon fight to survive or to destroy enemies, counter to Pokémon battles where the killing of Pokémon is prohibited. It has also been confirmed that Digimon was already in Development in 1995, while Pokemon was released in 1996. (However, Satoshi Tajiri, the "Father of Pokémon" already started to work on it in 1990.)
chew on that one. It's true, you have to admit it. Why do you enjoy watching cockfighting so much? The primary mechanism of Pokémon has been compared to the generally-outlawed practice of cockfighting.[21] Seen from this point of view, the game consists primarily of Pokémon trainers capturing and bartering in wild animals, coercing them to fight one another, and also features various performance-enhancing drugs to give them an edge in the fight.
