Resident Evil or Biohazard were cool horror games, the gameplay and the story were cool, also the monsters.

Best horror game is Silent Hill but Resident Evil is good too.

Resident Evil is creepy, but it is more oriented action than Silent Hill or Fatal Frame.The main drawback of Fatal Frame is that is gets boring, since capturing the ghosts is done through the same pattern, but the atmosphere and the vulnerability of the main character are really creepy, a lot more than RE4 in my opinion. But it is second in my personal PS2-horror game ranking.My main choice for spooky games would be the Silent Hill serie, it gives the chill but is more horrorific than RE4, it is in the guts... In Resident Evil, you are mostly scared because a monster suddenly appears, or because you are followed by many ennemies while being low on health (and having low ammo if you're unlucky !), but in Silent Hill, it can be the same, but also the ambiance is really creepy. It can be strange noises, blood and guts all over the walls, the design of the monsters and of the rooms/levels is true horror.Besides, in RE, having overpowered weapons diminish the horror factor.There is also forbidden Siren that seems horrorific, but I just tried it few minutes.

you said you wanted a good horror game that would scare you? well Silent Hill 4 is a game that i belive will meet your requirments for scary. you get a few weapons, to kill many foes. haft the time you have to run away because the mosters are scary and a 2x4 just doesn't seem very useful . its a great horror game to play alone in the dark for hours and it will probubly make you think while your at it and it has a great story line. its worth the money to get.

The most memoriable horror game would probably Silent Hill and Echo Night.The first time I played the two games on the psone, it scared the crap outta me.

then you should buy the SILENT HILL series or RESIDENT EVIL 4.Can anybody tell me a good horror game to buy, like the kind with good graphics that will scare me out of my seat cause the games I bought are all crappy.

Only game I know of are the fatal frames. They're not very "jump out of your seat" scary, though.

best horror games ever played: silent hill (any); resident evil 2 and 4 are the most intensethere are others not so well known but still very good like fatal frame its good a great story and it's scary; obscure it's fun cause it enables double player action; forbidden siren is scary and hard; rule of rose isn't very good but has a really disturbing story.

probably the one that got my nerves or more inside the story was resident evil 3 when nemesis is chasing u and u dont have any gun or ammo to make a stand at him thats really scary

i'm not a big fan of scary games because they always seem to go excruciatingly slow (ex. resident evil games) the two that REALLY scared me was resedent evil 3 and silent hill.p.s. I am aware that i am contradicting myself in saying that resedent evil scared me and that it went to slow. #3 was the only scary one

I would have to say Resident Evil, especially like REmake for GCN, the updated graphics and stuff on that game had me scared witless, that game was crazy. I'll have to say RE pre RE4, because from there it went to a survival horror game to like an action horror, so RE4 wasn't quite as scary.While I've never played them, I've watched friends play them, Silent Hill was a pretty creepy game. Especially SH2 with Pyramid Head all over the place, god that dude freaked ya out

Nnnnnhhh...It's a bit tough, but Resident Evil gets my vote, though overall I consider Eternal Darkness the better game if for no other reason than the controls. As far as atmosphere goes, though, the remake of the original Resident Evil on the GC just absolutely blows everything else I've played in the genre away. I never got any of the really good sanity effects in Eternal Darkness- I was always VERY careful with that Sanity meter and my potions and things- but some of the ones I did get freaked me like completely out. Where they got the idea for roaches and flies crawling around inside your TV screen I'll never know, but it worked.Also, Silent Hill was great. I've only gotten to play the first and second games, and only the second one to a great extent, but they really nail that desperate and alone feel- I just prefer the smaller scale of the Resident Evil games.

I don't know about best, but Resident Evil 4 on the gamecube is my favorite. Nothing beats having a bunch of friends playing pass the controller on Mercenary mode

Resident Evil, by a long shot.It's just so much better.It gets a little too hard though... with the exception of the fourth one, which was just a little too easy in my opinion.
