My first rpg was pokemon when it first came out in '95 or'96. Back then that was the hottest thing in the world. But now I'm thinking, what the hell did I see in that crap

I think it was Dungeons and Dragons (or something like that) for the sega genesis. It was actually pretty good but i was too young to undestand what was going on.

Technically the first rpg I played was Advanced Dungeons and Dragons, you know the pen and paper 12, sided die kind. :P But other than that, my first is Secret of Mana on Snes

my first RPG was final fantasy X on the PS2, it was the first final fantasy game i played and now i'm hooked. i put over 94 hours into that game and there are still mini games and things to complete.

Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest Legend here. For some reason the version marketed here didn't have the Final Fantasy tag on the pack or in the game.

Not sure if it counts... but "Adventure" on the Atari 2600 had the early elements of RPGness it... then I suppose the original arcade Gauntlet has it rpg moments...In terms of actual ownership of stat/level raising it would have to be Curse of the Azure bonds on the Commodore 64...

Well, the first rpg that i played was the first final fantasy for nintendo, sure it was a great game in those old days! and i still play it with my nintendo emulator!
