Well some things in N64 are better but in Melee has alot more stuff better than N64.

I like Melee better than the original, but I wish they kept the original Hyrule Castle stage. That one was so awsome.

im not saying melee is better, im just saying playing it is alot more stratigy than the first, (example SHFFL-ing and mid air dodges, as well as charging a smash attack. and besides, there are way more characters

I actually prefer SSB, to be honest. Kirby and Fox were nerfed in Melee.

And they're my best players.And by the way, you /can/ SHFFL in SSB.

yeah i think that that smash brothers are good nomatter what it is such a fun game and i can play it all day nomatter the version

Melee, because of the replayability value (classic, then adventure, then all-star, then trying to get all the trophies)

i think that smash bros melee is much better then the 64 version because of its graphics new charecters and the new games but i still like to go gack to the old game just for fun

I find Melee much more refined and there's a higher degree of strategy to it, and the controls are much more fluid. Besides, the events, trophy collection, and multiple story modes gave players more reasons to play when alone.

the n64 version was original... it set the world on fire (like my samus)when it came onto gamecube, it was just like most sequels to films... good, but it lacks the element of surprise

Melee. It added some great characters to the table. Plus, i think its got better gameplay.

i've been playing that game a lot lately. i had forgotten how fun it is (melee) 64 was pretty sweet but as all games evolve they esentially become better.

it wasn't even a challange on 64 no one beat me but on melee it evens the playing field i have to try twice as hard to beat my friends and sometimes cpu

Melee was definitely better, but the original still holds a place in my heart, and I still play it from time to time as a change from the melee that I'm now used to.
