I prefer the melee because it had loads of characters and was really fast.

Melee is better because of the better graphics, movement, battles, more characters, techniques, and better moves.

melee because it requires you to have more skill than n64. 64 is too easy. no skill what so ever

i love melee but the n64 is close behindI've played both of these games, and I have to say I like the N64 version much better. Granted, I have the N64 version and only play Melee and friends' houses, but here are the things I like about the older version. You have to work to use smash attacks, the directional tap and A, rather than just tapping the analog stick, which can get pretty cheap. Also, there is more time in the air to use aerial attacks, because in Melee, the falling is more realistic, with acceleration as you fall towards the ground. Any other thoughts?

Own origanal but playd melee at a friends house. I still like the old one because to me its a little easier to control

melee is the better game it has more control features. in melee you can dodge attacks in the air and on the ground, in melee the foward b(< +B) has a special move, in melee theirs more characters and ways to play. melee is way better than super smash Bros N64.

SSBM is way better then the original. It has more characters, more stages, more stuff to do. Besides, some of the new characters are amazing: Zelda, Ganandorf, etc.

N64 SSB was great for the time but Melee is just overall a great game with adventure mode and other modes that make it far superior

Well i like both first the ssb is first maded by n64 and i really like it. unitil the have ssbm then i like it ebtter so i actaully like both but melee better.

i have played the n64 one at a freinds house and loved it, and i am getting melee for my birthday. i will rate them when i get melee though!

Melle is definetly better than the N64 version ON ONE CONDITION. That is to get the other person u play against to stop tapping the C-analog stick non-stop for every attack they do.
