U cant compare, N64 Smash Bros was a great game for its time, but compared to Melee, it's slower, has less moves, less characters, oviously worse graphics since its on a newer system, etcU cant compare, N64 Smash Bros was a great game for its time, but compared to Melee, it's slower, has less moves, less characters, oviously worse graphics since its on a newer system, etc

Sure melee , it's much better !I have fun with it for ages !

ages? how old are you? it hasnt even been out for a decade yet, lmao, use proper english. On my opinion, the old one on N64 requires much more skills, and the characters have their balances, compared to its brother of Gcube, melee is a much faster pacing game which consists of more exciting characters, though one big mistake they had was the speed attribute, comparing bowzer, DK to sheik, C.Falcon, the difference is great. Though it combines with other features to balance them out.

I really like melee better because it has so many different characters and you have a lot more special moves in melee. There are also more maps trophies etc.

Melee was a huge improvement of N64 Bros. So IMO it's much better.

Seeing as how I can't get back into playing the original, I have to say Melee is the better game. Plus there are more characters.

I kinda like the original better. Hard to say why, but I know I've played the original way more, even after Melee was released.

Well, by the time melee was out everybody was used to the 64, but how can one refuse more characters, and an adventure mode, and a more realistic game is always welcomed.

I've played both of these games, and I have to say I like the N64 version much better. Granted, I have the N64 version and only play Melee and friends' houses, but here are the things I like about the older version. You have to work to use smash attacks, the directional tap and A, rather than just tapping the analog stick, which can get pretty cheap. Also, there is more time in the air to use aerial attacks, because in Melee, the falling is more realistic, with acceleration as you fall towards the ground. Any other thoughts?

I would have to say N64, just because the game itself is so simple, though Melee is not much more complicated, but I lean towards the older games because of their simplicity and easy going fun.

Melee. It has more moves, characters, stages, better graphics, better music...My favorite addition is Marth. I played Link on the N64, but after playing Melee for a while, I went with Marth. I also like Roy. They are both from the Fire Emblem series.

How idiotic. Its not true.... Melee, is better, but the only thing I dont like about it that I like in the N64 Version is the entries -- The special entries in the original added a great effect to it..

I'm saying melee due to the more complex nature and generally the more. Melee did take getting used to but once you master the basics it provides a much deeper game than 64.
