MELEE, definitely! I mean, come on. I loved SSB64 but SSBM had way more characters, more options in game play, great graphics, lots of good stages, items, etc... Melee all the way, and I am extremely psyched for SSBB.

i agree with cloudblade69, I think that the n64 version is a lot more fun than melee. You also needed skill to beat your friends and one way would be awesome smash attacks nd stuff, but the melee version is quite lame in comparison.

I will also say that Melee was the better game. It had a lot more meat to it.

Melee is just so much betta because of the the graphics, music, the stages and the new chars. I mean in N64, Fox is so angular and looks weird! Also the items are cooler and there is a more selection of pokemon in the pokeballs u use!

I agree and i was upset that they didn't have saffaron city as a past stage in melee

I definitely vote Melee; advanced play is much more in-depth.

The origional had a few good levels that never transfered, but I think overall Melee is better with more characters, moves, levels and even modes.

I liked melle better. The characters are a bit too cheap in the original smash.

Melee good, but it was easier to dodge in the N64. The shield wouldn't stop you from rolling.

I defiently think that Melee is probably better gameplaywise, but I grew up on 64 smash, and there's just a certain something about it that will always make it preferred to me. Just like how I still love Starcraft

Melee is the better game. The moves in N64 is anything but complex and advanced. It's boring because the combos are really simple in n64

I've played both of these games, and I have to say I like the N64 version much better. Granted, I have the N64 version and only play Melee and friends' houses, but here are the things I like about the older version. You have to work to use smash attacks, the directional tap and A, rather than just tapping the analog stick, which can get pretty cheap. Also, there is more time in the air to use aerial attacks, because in Melee, the falling is more realistic, with acceleration as you fall towards the ground. Any other thoughts?

i have both of them and they are both awesome games, but melee takes the cake. alot more characters and modes. its nice. cant wait for brawl to come out for the wii

I like melee better, because well it's because of what a lot of other people are saying:more characters, stages, and better graphics. but since the n64 version was first, i can say that i liked that one before the gamecube version, even though i like the gamecube version more. does that make sense?
