i would say the worst dub is a fan dub of bleach i heard once... i could only force myself to listen for about 2 miniutes before i turned it off and deleted it from existance *shudders*

This, I actually have to hear for myself. Oh, why am I such a masochist? :P

Don't really watch much dubs but I have to say One Piece probably has the worst English dub I've heard.

It's hard to say.. I've had a bunch of anime where I completely hated the dubbing, but then after watching it for a bit, it started growing on me.I'd say the best dub is probably Full Metal Alchemist, although there are still a lot of screw-ups..

The Best is Dragonball z. 2 me Goku's voice in jap is 2 low.Neutral-Bleach. The voice sounds alright. Everything I expected, But the bad part is that it got no BLOOD :D which is what BLEACH was made for.The Worst is Narutoooo!!! I hate it so much. Naruto's voice sounds so gay.

I'm indifferent to dubs, it's a hit or miss kind of thing. For example, Tiffany Grant as Asuka in Evangelion couldn't *be* more perfect of a role. I'd say ADV has got the best dubs. Although, I do enjoy the work Anime Works has done, and add the fact the outtakes they often throw in the DVDs are hilarious. A good dub consists of, various voice actors (if you can close your eyes and tell who is who), convincing emotion (which is harder to detect in Japanese voice actors if you're not Japanese or are familiar with Japanese dialogue), and most importantly minor if any changes in story dialogue (though changes are almost impossible to avoid, since the script needs to fit the mouthflaps and sometimes there will be many mouthflaps for a Japanese word that translates out to a simple 1-3 syllable word in English). Anime dubs are tolerable, and sometimes preferable. However in live-action films... Dubs are ALWAYS a mistake. Live-action mouthing of words is far more complex and can not be faked into another language unlike the simple movements of an animated mouth (and sometimes the mouth doesn't move at all). All in all, I say "kudos" to dubs. They provide a vital service of bringing anime to the masses. And a big "screw you" to the elitist ****s who think watching anime strictly subbed makes them somehow superior. Someone mentioned in another thread that watching anime in anything other than subs makes one less of an anime fan. That simply is not true, people have their reasons to not watch it subbed, from a simple preference to physical/mental issues that prevent or make difficult the reading of subtitles. In fact the only anime viewers I wouldn't call a fan, are the ones who merely pirate anime and don't legally own any. If you want to impress someone, learn Japanese and watch it raw. Anime is for everyone. And besides... subtitles ruin anime music videos.

Picking on dubs is like calling in an air strike on a trapped rabbit. No sport in it at all.But I guess big explosions are nice, even if they do obliterate the poor bunny.Okay, no more kaluha in my espresso.....Oh, yeah, favorite dubs? Azumanga Daioh, FMP Fumoffu!, Nausicaa, Madlax. And kudos to the beekeeper for playing odd-man-out on this thread. Admitting that you're a dub advocate's gonna make you as popular as the guy asking for a ham sandwich at Ramadan, but someone's gotta do it, and as AC/DC once said, "we salute you (insert cannon sound here)." XD

Full Metal Achemist, Trigun, Bleach, Naruto (except for naruto himself), and Dragon Ball Z are all realatively decent dubs...nothing compares in horrendousness with One Piece.

My least favourite anime dub would have to be one peice. When it wasn't in America It was perfect, it had a perfect opening theme, it had perfect voice actors, and they didn't cut out all the important things. But the very second it was licensed by 4Kids all that went down the drain
