It'd be interesting to see them try it. I liked SSBM on the Gamecube, and a DS release doesn't seem too bad. The touch screen could be a problem, unless it was used to show the status of the characters or game maybe?

Well in the end it's not really up to us the gamers all that much. Nintendo would probably look at past sales for Super Smash Bros. (N64) and SSBM (GC), among other things related to those two. Then they'd finally debate on whether or not to go ahead with developing it, if they believe it would have a chance of selling.

I agree with you deathwing. Say for example they make two different SSB games. One for the DS and one for the Wii. They could have them interact with each other (unlock secret characters, levels, etc. by linking them).

4 people playing on one Wii is alot different from 4 people having to have purchased a DS. I may like it. but don't have a DS. so no.

If it were a remake of the n64 one, I'd probably still buy it, but if it were a completely new version with new characters and such, that would be amazing

Eh they have Jump Ultimate Stars =P for people who like anime. That's a wifi SSB type game. Ionno if they could adapt SSB to DS very well tho.

It would be pretty cool I'd love to play SSB on the DS but the only thing is all my friends don't have DS's so I wouldn't have anyone to multiplayer against and I would be stuck battling bots.

I don't think anyone from Nintendo will make it, but this is a good homebrew game idea...

this sounds like a great idea - how would the touch screen be used though... maybe if you get knocked off a level, you land on the bottom screen? Interesting idea though :P

I think Super Smash Bros. DS would only be good if Nintendo makes the controls decent, which is going to be pretty hard in my opinion.

ssbds sounds kinda cool. they just need more characters. a lot more. and be able to have 16 people in a match at the same time.
